If there is hope

It lies with the proles. This is one of the most memorable quotes from "1984". It may well be that Winston is deluded when he says that, but, at this point, I don’t see other hope for my country and for the West.
Trump may have won the American elections, but the war between globalists and conservatives is far from over. Romania is just one of the battlegrounds. Other countries are at play, most notably Poland, going to the polls in a few weeks. Or Germany, where only today the AfD right-wing party was officially declared an extremist organization and some are calling for the party to be banned. The party won 20.8% in the federal elections last February. One fifth of German voters are to be discarded should AfD be banned. Their votes don’t count.
George Simion, pointing to the one everybody is actually voting for, Calin Georgescu
Deplorables, uneducated, riff raff, white trash…they should all be silenced according to globalist rhetoric. Here in Romania conservative voters have been branded riff raff or unskilled workers. Today is the first day of voting in the new presidential elections and the unskilled Romanians that went abroad to make a living are going to the polling stations in droves. The numbers are huge and everybody’s having a feast on TikTok. All with the same message - you laughed at us, you insulted us, now we’re taking our sweet revenge. Well, sweet revenge is a polite way of putting it, as the mood is rather one of we're going to kick your ass.
The rightful winner of last year's cancelled elections, Calin Georgescu, was not allowed to stand this time, so everybody is voting for his protege, George Simion. The expectation is that once he becomes president, Simion will name Georgescu prime minister.
Now, I don’t have much faith in Simion, but the enthusiasm surrounding his campaign is highly contagious. One look at his supporters on TikTok and it’s obvious we’re not talking about highly educated people. I don’t mind the blunt speech and some of the insults hurled at other candidates are hilarious.
One argument against trusting the proles to vote is that they are easily swayed, which is probably true. My head is full of slogans and campaign songs that went viral. On the other hand, they’ve got nothing to win or to lose. As the poet said, when you’ve got nothin, you’ve got nothin to lose…
Soros-backed influencers have a lot to lose, like their livelihood. Especially after Elon Musk cut their USAID grants… you have to work for Soros and the Brussels elite if you want to maintain your monthly stipend.

Georgescu kept a low profile during the campaign, but celebrated Easter with Simion
I trust common people don’t want to see their kids dragged into the Ukrainian war, just as I don’t want to see mine. And they certainly don’t agree with woke propaganda of any kind.
Last, but not least, the high-brow intellectuals and influencers have utterly disgraced themselves during the pandemic, The proles, did not. They were those flaunting mask mandates, not to mention vaccine mandates. They were my people then, so they are my people now. Incidentally, George Simion and his party did join our protests during the Covid terror a couple of times.
One weird thing during this campaign - when you post something, it’s enough to put the Romanian flag and everybody knows who you’re voting for. The others prefer the EU flag…
I am also quite curious to see the force of social media platforms. As is the custom, we’ve had a few lame debates on mainstream television channels, but the real battle is on TikTok. George Simion chose to close the campaign tonight with a six-hour live Q&A across multiple platforms. It’s not quite like Trump going on Joe Rogan’s podcast, but it will have to do.
