If you are following my account you may have seen that I previously made two crochet sweaters, one for myself and another a gift for my mother. I decided to dive in the deep end with knitting and make a full sweater after only having knit two scarves more than 10 years ago.

I didn't follow a pattern and basically did a gauge swatch and used a lot of math and measurements as I went along to create my plan. The front / back and sleeves are all knitted flat then seamed, the collar ribbing was knitted in the round.
As always I did a poufy balloon sleeve :)

The rabbit design was not done in colorwork as I don't feel confident enough in my tension so I used a technique called duplicate stitch. It's basically a type of embroidery but you mimic the knit "v" shape.
I also did not make an exact plan for this and freehanded it, IMO I made one extra stitch on the top of the head that looks off. I may try to duplicate duplicate stitch with green to cover it but maybe after a few days I won't care...

The only shaping is in the collar area, none at all for the top of the sleeves so it has a very boxy feel. There are also lots of little mistakes hidden all around but overall I think most people probably wouldn't notice unless they were really looking.

It's quite warm! I would love to work with some fancy wool but I have some skin sensitivities so I am waffling on any further investment. This one is made of a relatively inexpensive acrylic, the full cost was probably less than 15$ but the labour was worth hundreds $$$$ lol. I would estimate that it took close to 50 hours but that's hard to say, as I progressed my flow got faster so the next one may be a bit quicker, I was also doing a few new techniques (decreases, picking up stitches and KFB) so I went fairly slow on those too.

We are getting another nor easter tomorrow with more snow so I guess I finished just in time... ๐โจ๐โจ๐โจ๐โจ๐โจ๐โจ๐โจ๐โจ
