It was past 6 pm, and the temperature was dropping, I needed just another brief walk since I had the opportunity before the following day's hectic schedule. So I dressed warm. I walked towards the Wanaka Lakefront front for the second time in less than 5 hours. The views were breathtaking!
After checking into Bella Vista motel Wanaka on Sunday, the search for something to eat on the streets of Wanaka led me to the beautiful Lakefront. Despite being so tied and hungry after a 6 hour's drive from Christchurch, the beauty of Wanaka Lakefront had me temporarily forgotten about my hunger for food.
Seagulls are certainly New Zealand's favorite birds 馃惁, the locals just don't like it because it is a bird that will flock around wherever there is food. And apparently, they are messy, lol 馃槅 But I like them, they are beautiful 馃槏.
I continued on my drive on State Highway 8. It is always exciting to drive past Lake Tekapo, so as I approached, I felt excited as I know each time I drive past, it always has a different kind of beauty. I remembered stopping to fill up diesel 鉀斤笍, other than that, I continued. As seen by the road sign, it is a 50km/h Zone, so no speeding. The 50 Zone is still better than the 30km/h Zone, which I have now gotten used to. Unlike my first new days in NZ, I struggled to drive that slow.
It was in July when I discovered I could get my camera 馃摲 to take photos for me while I was focused on road driving. I had fun the moment I discovered this and a lot of photos taken, which I haven't shared all of them yet.
Even thought it was freezingly cold, and the coldest winter I have ever experienced if compared to my winter experience in South Africa 馃嚳馃嚘, I can say I winter in New Zealand 馃嚦馃嚳 is beautiful 馃槏 as I experienced my first snowfall...
