Hello everyone. I think I had already mentioned it a few posts ago, we are in a musical peak moment with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of our institution. I thought it was a one-concert party, but it hasn't been like that, it has been event after event and little rest, but among so many activities I had forgotten to mention something that happened on Monday (I don't remember if it was this Monday or last Monday, but it was a Monday). We recorded our voices for a new album, and that had to happen in a single morning, the agenda is very full, but it has been one of the most pleasant moments of my last days.
¡Hola a todos!. Creo que ya lo había mencionado unos posts atrás, estamos en un momento musical cumbre con la celebración del 50 aniversario de nuestra institución. Pensé que era una fiesta de un solo concierto, pero no ha sido así, ha sido evento tras evento y poco descanso, pero entre tantas actividades había olvidado mencionar algo que ocurrió el Lunes (ya no recuerdo si este o el Lunes pasado, pero fue un Lunes). Grabamos nuestras voces para un nuevo disco, y eso tuvo que ocurrir en una sola mañana, la agenda está muy llena, pero ha sido uno de los momentos más gratos de mis últimos días.
The piece you can hear in this video fragment is the Canta Criolla, by the Venezuelan composer Antonio Estévez and this concert was two Sundays ago. This work lasts a little more than half an hour, but it is a Venezuelan composition of high level and a piece that we already have by heart and that runs through our veins, even if it is necessary to rehearse it before each performance. There is a very beautiful recording that I have always heard from 1992, being the only reference, but the years have passed and now we intend to release to the public a version with today's technology, and it makes me very happy that this new recording coincides with my time in the musical history of the Cantata Criolla. We were a little tired that day, but it is impossible to stop smiling, as it is one of our favorite works.
La obra que pueden escuchar en ese fragmento de video es la Canta Criolla, del compositor venezolano Antonio Estévez y ese concierto fue hace hace dos Domingos. Esta obra dura poco más de media hora, pero es una composición venezolana de alto nivel y una pieza que ya tenemos de memoria y que corra por nuestras venas, aunque sea necesario ensayarla antes de cada presentación. Hay una grabación muy hermosa que siempre he oído de 1992, siendo la única referencia, pero los años han pasado y ahora se pretende lanzar al público una versión con la tecnología de hoy, y me hace muy feliz que esta nueva grabación coincida con mi tiempo en la historia musical de la Cantata Criolla. Estábamos algo cansados ese día, pero es imposible dejar de sonreír, ya que es de nuestras obras preferidas.
On Saturday we did Mozart as a tribute to Pope Francis, on Sunday we had this work live at the Aula Magna of the Universidad Central de Venezuela and on Monday morning we were recording the part of the choir, since the orchestra had recorded before and was also recording during the concert. This Sunday we will culminate this strong season with Verdi's Requiem and I hope that then we can rest a little 😅 I never thought I could get tired in this work, but although the music is beautiful it has been many hours standing on stage, waiting time and days of whole days, the physical fatigue is noticeable in the voices, but at the same time we are leaving a legacy, and that comforts me. I hope to hear this new album with our participation as soon as possible. Seriously it's been so much work that we almost forgot the day we recorded 😵💫
El Sábado hicimos Mozart como tributo al Papa Francisco, el Domingo tuvimos esta obra en vivo en el Aula Magna de la Universidad Central de Venezuela y el Lunes en la mañana estábamos grabando la parte del coro, ya que la orquesta había grabado antes y también se estuvo grabando durante el concierto. Este Domingo culminaremos esta fuerte temporada con el Réquiem de Verdi y espero que luego podamos descansar un poco 😅 nunca pensé que podría cansarme en este trabajo, pero aunque la música es hermosa han sido muchas horas de pie en el escenario, tiempo de espera y jornadas de días enteros, el cansancio físico se nota en las voces, pero al mismo tiempo estamos dejando un legado, y eso me reconforta. Espero escuchar esta nueva producción discográfica con nuestra participación lo más pronto posible. En serio ha sido tanto trabajo que casi olvidamos el día que grabamos 😵💫
