Hi Hiveians! I'm Jade, a teen artist from Germany. By now, if you watch the news, you have probably heard about the hurricanes that have been hitting the south east area of America like Milton. But very little people in the English speaking world have been talking about the hurricanes that are also hitting Mexico (where I live) at the same time. Not even a year ago, a cat 5 hurricane hit my family and I with 200mph or 330kph winds. Which.. taught us some things about survival. 😆 The one we just got (hurricane John) wasn't as bad, at 120mph winds, but we still lost power, water and gas.. which explains why I didn't post last week.. But I didn't lose my paintbrush! I started working on a painting on a larger than usual canvas, I don't know what to call it yet, but I'm kinda going for a collage/random surreal approach to it. So far, the mediums are acrylics, ballpoint pen, sharpie and I used a glitter marker so I can be more diverse and experimental with this piece. Perhaps I'll make an NFT out of it in the future.. > Although, what are the odds? When in history have we had so many hurricanes and natural disasters occur all at the same time in different places? Here are a couple things I've been up to and things I made during "John" time. ;)

I crochet a lot, so I thought that instead of making an individual post for each and every one of my creations, I'm here to make a compilation of every amigurumi I made in the past 2 weeks! From the difficult to easy, from the failures to successes, nobody just wants to see the project that turned out good, because I bet that the majority of the people that post in NeedleWorkMonday, also have a couple failures.. So let's share those too! :)

Hi Hiveians! Welcome! Since I now have more polyfiber (which is stuffing), I can crochet more! This polyfiber was gifted to me by a kind friend that also likes to crochet. Except the only problem was, when I had stuffing, I had no yarn. Lol. 😂 Which is why I haven't posted in NeedleWorkMonday for awhile. The only place to buy crochet yarn where I live is quite far away, but since my mom was going to go the distance anways one day, to go to the dentist, I asked her if she'd stop by at the yarn store. She got 8 more colours for me to make creations to share with you! This is the first thing I crocheted. :)

Hi Hiveians! Welcome! Have you ever walked out after the sun went down and felt this mysterious/magical vibe that the night always brings with it? Elves, fairies, magic, there are so many magical creatures that are so told to emerge in the mysterious, yet enchanting night. This feeling inspired me to create my imaginary-based acrylic painting called: # Enchanted This painting took me about a week to paint (since a week is about my average to make a painting of this size). I worked mostly on it at my easel during the night time to pick up that atmosphere a bit more. Besides, I find that the night time is a nice time to paint, since that time of day feels to hussle and bustle a bit less.

Hi Hiveians! Welcome back! I know that I haven't been posting for awhile, considering where I live. We got hit by a category six hurricane (if there is such a thing by now), so the power had gone out for quite awhile. Over this time, I have been getting better at art even during the difficult times, continuing my painting has become a passionate priority to me. If I am going to start posting again to share my artwork, I've definitely got to get back in that rhythm again. Even almost a year after we had the storm, they still seem to be working on fixing the power, so there are still power outages every now and then. I have to hope I don't get "my flo" broken in the middle of writing this, due to a power outage. 🤪😆 # Vitality This artwork took me about a week, here I depict our lady in an underwater scene, in which I strive to express what it feels like to have vitality. I gave it sort of an other-worldly feel and let myself go wild (especially with the hair) blocking out all other chatter and the business in my mind. All the brush strokes and the way the gold and red interact with each other brought me joy, I hope it does the same with you! I think it will also leave a special mark on my memory of the fun I had when I went into the grass outside and splatted all the paint splats on it that you see on the canvas. Now the dress that I wore that day has paint all over it, but it looks cool.. lol. 😎
