Hello Foodies
How are you today ? I hope and pray, we are all always given health and also happiness in living this life. I am very happy, given the time and opportunity to be able to participate again and share my culinary experiences at the Foodies Be Hive Community. This time, I would like to share my culinary reviews and experiences at one of the cafes in Medan City, namely Hugo Café. What are the interesting things there? continue to see my story this time.

Some time ago, I took the time to visit one of the cafes with a unique concept, minimalism and European style architecture, namely Hugo Café. This cafe is located at Guru Patimpus Street no. 7 Medan Barat District – Medan City. Administratively, the location of this café is very strategic. This café is located in the city center of Medan City and is surrounded by various private offices, government offices, hotels and schools.

Hugo Café is a very unique café. This cafe is in the same building as the Permata Hotel, which is also a two-star hotel with a unique concept. When we enter this café, the space of this café is not too wide, but it is made with a design and interior that spoils our eyes. The atmosphere of the café is also very cozy and comfortable, apart from that I also like the selection of songs that are played in this café.

The menu choices of this café are also complete. For food choices, there are various choices of dishes such as Steak (Fish and Chip, Chicken Steak), Noodles (fried noodles, noodle soup, tek tek noodles), Spaghetti (carbonara or Bolognese sauce), Toast bread, French fries, chicken pop. For rice menu choices, Hugo Café provides a variety of rice menus such as fried rice (with a variety of topping choices), rice with chicken (butter fried chicken, grilled chicken, Rica chicken, black pepper chicken etc). For drink choices, this café offers a menu of coffee, tea or other signature drinks.

Butter Fried Chicken Rice

The first dish I ordered at this Café was Butter Fried Chicken Rice. This menu is priced at IDR 29K (1.8 USD) and is one of the most recommended lunch menus at this café. One of the advantages of eating dine at this café is that our orders are processed quickly. Only waiting for about 8-10 minutes, the dish was delivered to my table.

This dish is served on a beautiful gray plate. One portion of rice, butter fried chicken pieces with crackers and cucumber makes me hungry. At first glance, there is nothing special about this Butter Fried Chicken Rice. Because of that, I didn't expect to try it when I tasted it. However, when one butter fried chicken and rice entered my mouth. The taste is very suitable for my tongue.

This butter fried chicken has a distinctive and very unique taste. The taste of the chicken meat is sweet and savory which seems to come from the perfect marination process when the chicken meat is fried. One thing I like, this dish is served warm and makes me even more excited to eat it.

I also ordered a cup of iced coffee late to accompany my meal at that time. The taste of the coffee latte is also very special for me. The bitter and creamy taste dominates this ice coffee latte. I think, this drink really goes well with the butter chicken fried rice that I ordered.

Spaghetti Bolognese
After enjoying my first dish, I was still hungry and I decided to move on to round two. Initially, I ordered spaghetti carbonara for me to eat on my second round. However, either it was me who I said, or the waiter who was listening wrongly. The food that came to my table was Spaghetti Bolognese.

The waitress and the chef from the café were planning to replace my menu, but I thought it was fine. I can enjoy the spaghetti bolognese. I immediately ate this dish, for the texture of the spaghetti from this dish I felt it was al dente. It's interesting and different, from the taste of Bolognese sauce from this spaghetti. It seems that this Bolognese sauce has been calibrated to the Indonesian tongue, I feel less authentic but it still tastes delicious to me.

To accompany my meal this time, I ordered a glass of ice tea without sugar. I feel this is the perfect match to accompany my spaghetti dish this time. After enjoying these two dishes, I became very full. That's all my culinary story this time, see you next time and another review of my food. See you later.
