@holos-lotus no puedo estar más agradecida y feliz por la participación y acogida de esta Iniciativa #1 en
Cosas de @iriswrite.
El tema que hacer con el qué dirán ha hilvanado una serie de sentimientos surgidos en cada análisis que nos hacen creer cada vez más en las potencialidades de esta gran colmena y en la capacidad sanadora del ser humano.
Mientras leía cada una de los textos, recordaba alguna etapa de mi vida porque la vida en las pequeñas ciudades de campo o en ciudades poco desarrolladas, están plagadas de prejuicios y actitudes que hablan del bajo nivel cultural de sus habitantes.
Cuando fui a estudiar a Santiago de Cuba, en 1988, me impresionó mucho que cada cual hacia su vida sin mirar al otro. Podía respirarse cierto aire de libertad en la calle, en un hogar y hasta en la universidad donde las procedencias eran de diversas zonas del país.
Yo venía del seno de una familia donde reirse era llamar la atención. Mi hermana y yo eramos constantemente regañadas porque qué dirá la gente de tanta risa.
Y asi ese ojo desde la ventana del vecino nos mantuvo cautelosas como ellos lo estuvieron bajo los ojos de mi madre.
Este tema lo visualicé desde testimonios propios alimentados por mujeres de otras otras épocas y en esa revisitación quiero homenajear a
Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz a
Virginia Woolf y a
Frida Khalo,tres mujeres que tuvieron que romper con patrones sociales para ser lo que verdaderamente su alma les inspiró.
En esta iniciativa cada participante abrió su corazón y lo puso en correspondencia con su pluma para brindarnos testimonios de épocas, culturas, costumbres de familias y países; nos hablan de situaciones simpáticas, reflexivas o dolorosas. Desiciones para dejar nacer nuevas vidas.
Cada textos refiere una circunstancia que puede servir de experiencia a otras personas, estarán ahi como testimonios valiosos. Me hicieron recordar tantos momentos pues me sentí identificada con cada uno de ello.
Recordé los años en que estuve casada, parecía el matrimonio ideal para toda la vida porque fue fundado con amor y respeto. Él rompió los lazos maritales con su esposa, madre de sus dos hijas, para casarse conmigo. Siempre me sentí señalada por ello y aún cuando hice intentos de unirnos en una sola familia, nunca lo logré completamente.
Pasados 24 años no era feliz y me detenía el hecho de haber roto un matrimonio. Qué iban a decir aquellos que pronosticaron que no haríamos matrimonio viejo. No podía darles el gusto y hasta llegué a pensar que no estaba bien que dejara al hombre que había roto su familia para estar a mi lado. Esa culpa me mantenía unida a un hombre iracundo y desconciderado; egolatra.

What to do with what people say: let it flow // Initiative Award #1

@holos-lotus, I couldn't be more grateful and happy for the participation and acceptance of this #1 Initiative in
Things from @iriswrite. The topic of
what to do with what people will say has woven together a series of feelings that emerged in each analysis, making us believe more and more in the potential of this great hive and in the healing capacity of human beings. As I read each of the texts, I remembered a time in my life because life in small rural towns or underdeveloped cities is plagued by prejudices and attitudes that speak to the low cultural level of its inhabitants.
When I went to study in Santiago de Cuba in 1988, I was deeply impressed by how everyone lived their lives without looking at others. I longed to breathe a certain air of freedom on the street, in a home, and even at the university, where people came from different parts of the country.
I came from a family where laughing was a way to attract attention. My sister and I were constantly scolded because what will people say about laughing so much. And so that eye from the neighbor's window kept us cautious, just as they were under my mother's watch.
I visualized this theme from my own testimonies fed by women from other eras and in this revisitation I wanted to pay tribute to
Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz to
Virginia Woolf and to
Frida Khalo, three women who had to break with social patterns to be what their soul truly inspired them.

In this initiative, each participant opened their hearts and put them in contact with their pen to share testimonies from eras, cultures, and family and country customs. They tell us about situations that are sympathetic, thoughtful, or painful.
Decisions that allow new lives to be born. Each text refers to a circumstance that can be a valuable experience for others; they will be there as valuable testimonies. They reminded me of so many moments because I felt identified with each one. I remembered the years I was married.
It seemed like the ideal lifelong marriage because it was founded on love and respect, but he broke the marital ties with his wife, the mother of his two daughters, to marry me. I always felt singled out, and even though I tried to unite us into a single family, I never fully succeeded.
Then, after 24 years, I wasn't happy and was held back by the fact that I had broken up a marriage. What would those who predicted we wouldn't make it through the long term say? I couldn't give them the pleasure, and I even came to think it wasn't right for her to leave the man who had broken up her family to be with me. That guilt kept me tied to an angry, thoughtless man; a self-absorbed man.
