"But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for he is kind to the ungrateful and the selfish."

The following is a poem I wrote today:

Rewards

Where is that light in the tunnel?
This life is a journey, we know;
Some are searching for the light in this world,
Unknowingly, downward they go.

Gravity is a downward pull?
To what are we being pulled down?
We look up when we're at our wit's end,
When we are "dying" to "get out of this town".

The fall in the Garden is what holds us,
To this world of hate and crime;
In prison the inmate waits on,
His sentence: he's doing time.

Is there a Savior? A road to salvation?
Indeed! He is coming again!
To separate, to cleanse, to reward,
He is our God: the beginning and the end.

Truly, He rewards the just ones,
The traitors will have their day;
As He fashions rooms in heaven accordingly,
Same, the evil ones will have to pay.

So the lesson here is Mercy,
He is Mercy, definitely;
Wait for the Lord, take courage; (Psalms 26:14)
Just wait, and you will see.

Now, now... wait, wait,
Wait on the Lord, just now;
The fruits are there for the asking,
Just ask, and receive, that's how.
