I am posting this late, but you know how important the annual event on RAI called "Borgo dei Borghi" is to me. Last year, I was almost personally involved because the village I was born in, Soave, won.
Today, however, I want to talk about the winner of 2023: the village of Ronciglione, a famous village located in the province of Viterbo. I was fortunate enough to visit it a few years ago, and it has been my favorite since the beginning, also because it is the birthplace of Marco Mengoni, the winner of Sanremo, and this surely influenced its victory.
Ronciglione was chosen among many Italian villages for its beauty and cultural traditions. In fact, it is famous for its well-preserved medieval old town, its ancient walls, and numerous churches.
The news of the victory has sparked great enthusiasm in the local community, and from my personal experience, I am certain that it will be an excellent opportunity to further promote the beauty of the country and attract a large number of tourists.
I am convinced that this program will help promote tourism in this location, as I have seen happen in Soave. Even today, many restaurants in my area have been booked for months, thanks to the visibility offered by television, still one of the main tools for promoting tourist destinations in Italy.
At the end of the competition, Ronciglione won first place as the Borgo dei Borghi for 2023, followed by Sant'Antioco, a Sardinian village in second place, and Salemi, a renowned Sicilian village in third place.

It is a beautiful village located on the Cimini Mountains and inhabited by about 8,000 people. Like other villages in the Viterbo area, it was built on a spur of tuff rock. The surrounding area is mainly characterized by hazel forests, one of the local specialties. Also, I recommend visiting Lake Vico near Ronciglione, considered one of the highest lakes in Italy, located at an altitude of 500-700 meters on a lake of volcanic origin within a beautiful nature reserve suitable for nature lovers. If you want to experience the wonder of untouched nature and admire the wonders of historical architecture, the village of Ronciglione is the perfect place for you. I hope you have the opportunity to visit this place, but I am sure that with the media impact it will have, it will be invaded by tourists.
