HIVE Tiende Su Mano A Cumanacoa. El pasado 2 de julio 2024, nuestro país Venezuela fue víctima del paso arrasador del Huracán Beryl, haciendo estragos específicamente en la población de Cumanacoa, municipio Montes de nuestro estado Sucre. Fueron muchas las familias afectadas que perdieron todo, menos las ganas de volverse a levantar. En consecuencia, de inmediato todo el pueblo de Sucre se puso a la disposición, con la instalación de múltiples centros de acopio; ésto con el objeto de recolectar la mayor cantidad de insumos necesarios para ser entregados a nuestros hermanos de Cumanacoa.
HIVE Reaches Out to Cumanacoa. On July 2, 2024, our country Venezuela was victim of the devastating passage of Hurricane Beryl, wreaking havoc specifically in the town of Cumanacoa, Montes municipality of our state of Sucre. Many families were affected and lost everything, except the will to get back on their feet. Consequently, immediately all the people of Sucre made themselves available, with the installation of multiple collection centers; this in order to collect the largest amount of supplies needed to be delivered to our brothers in Cumanacoa.
And in this case the @hivesucre team did the same, because the mobilization was perfect and it was possible to obtain non-perishable food, clothes, prepared food, personal hygiene supplies, mouth covers, among others. In a first wave, these supplies were delivered on July 5, in conjunction with @hivesucre, barely 3 days after the tragedy; and it is one thing to see photos and another to be present at the scene.
Every day that passed, the brothers and sisters of Cumanacoa needed more and more help, so @hivesucre in coordination with IMATUR and @hivesucre, executed a quick planning to provide supplies to as many families as possible. On this occasion, we obtained non-perishable food, prepared food (prepared at IMATUR headquarters), drinking water, mats, diapers, alcohol, soap, sanitary napkins, masks, and all the love of our team. In this sense, on July 11 the delivery of these supplies took place; the departure was carried out from two points, first from the IMATUR headquarters, where the bus and part of the requirements to be delivered were waiting for us, as well as the staff that accompanied us.
Then, we moved to @holasupercenter where the rest of the @holasupercenter team was waiting for us and logically more supplies needed for Cumanacoa. After loading the supplies, we set off on the trip with a lot of emotion because we knew we were going to bring a little bit of joy in the midst of so much misfortune. We know that what we offered is little in comparison to what they have lost; however, the idea was to bring a light that would give them back hope; we also know that although it is difficult, material things can be recovered, but the loss of a life is irreparable. Therefore, when the families received their supplies, our souls rejoiced when we heard: "May God multiply to all of you and to Hive, all the support you have offered us".
In this new visit to the town of Cumanacoa we focused on attending to the affected communities of: the Peña, Maturincito, The Guzmans, The central sugar, Ayacucho Street, Moedanos Street, Pichincha Avenue and several sectors that we transited to bring supply to many affected families. We tried to reach the community of "La Fragua" but due to rain, access to this affected area was limited and we could not access it. It is worth mentioning that we were provided with rubber boots to move through the affected areas, which we largely gave to the villagers, as well as we also offered leather gloves for the use of tools such as picks and shovels that are being used to remove the mud from their homes.
Also, the Hive Sucre work team had the opportunity to hear from the voice of those affected what happened in the town, many fathers and mothers still mourn their children who are still missing, as well as mourn those who died in this tragedy that mourns the population of Cumanacoa. Simply, what you will see in this video demonstrates everything that has been described, hope is still alive and there is still much to be done in Cumanacoa; let's all go and let's not leave them alone.
