Today, I made my way to my beloved mountain hideaway. Encircled by lofty cliffs, it's a place that sees sunlight for just under two hours each winter day. I took my FPV drone to the skies for one long, sweeping flight around the entire arena, which turned out to be one of the best flights I've ever experienced! The video is an uncut record of this flight. For a more dynamic effect, I sped up the entire video by 2x. Since the colors at this time of year are quite muted, I opted to convert it to high-contrast black & white.

Unfortunately, I didn't dare to fly through the fog to reach the ridge from where I was standing. Although the fog layer was only about 50 meters thick, it posed a risk. Flying through it could cause condensation on the camera lens, leading to what would essentially be a 'blind flight.' While this wouldn't be a major issue since I can make the drone to return automatically by flipping a switch, my risk tolerance is low unless I have 95% certainty that I'm in full control of the situation.

It's always a joy to ascend out of the fog, leaving the dark, gloomy scenery behind, and see the sea of clouds below, all illuminated by the sun...

I was too late for this flight; the sun had already begun to set. Nonetheless, I decided to take a chance, soaring up to the mountain ridge, which was stunningly adorned with a band of fog. I became slightly disoriented on my return journey after diving back.

Today, I experimented with the speed of the GEPRC Moz7 using a 6S 1550mAh LiPo battery (Tattu R-Line 5.0). I didn't adjust the camera angle sufficiently, so at 83% throttle and around 130 km/h, I was looking strait into the ground - not the best perspective for a speed test. You also might wonder about the low video bit rate; it's because I flew from inside the living room...
