Forty four years ago today I married my husband. Yes, when we married we agreed it would be for keeps. What I didn't know was that we would continue to be happy for all these years. This past August, my parents celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary, so we had a good example!
I recently returned from visiting my parents in Wisconsin to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary. My youngest sister was married on my parents' 35th anniversary, so she and her husband have been married for 30 years.
Since I've moved to the Houston/Galveston, Texas, area, this is the first time we've had a Shelter in Place order. No, it's not because of COVID, it's because one of the refineries has reported some sort of issue, most likely a chemical released.
Today is Brother and Sister Day. I have four siblings. There are only two of us left in the same area in which we grew up (Wisconsin), #3 (a brother) and #4 (a sister). I have a brother about a five hour drive from me, we both live in Texas (both due to job transfers). I have a sister who is in North Carolina (job transfer).
Well, this is day 4 of HiveBloPoMo and I missed the first three. Well at least I won't feel the pressure to write something/anything each day. I would have participated, but I had gotten rather ill this past weekend. So much so that I didn't get up unless I had to. I'm doing very well right now and believe it was just something I ate and I have gotten rid of it.
It has been quite a while since my husband and I had a decent vacation. We took a short cruise. Our goal was to just relax. Our first day on board (last week Monday) was cold and misty. I hated that Disney returned to the old muster drill where you have to wait for everyone to show up. Unfortunately, our station was on deck in the cold. We avoided the outside decks after that. We saw the show in the theater (Rapunzel) and then had our dinner (we had the late seating). We had a table with two other couples and we enjoyed their company.
