Saludos estimados amigos de @family-friends,espero se encuentren de lo mejor.

Hoy les quiero compartir una salida que hice junto a mi hija, su novio y una amiga de mi hija a la población de Cubiro, un pueblo que está ubicado en la zona alta del estado Lara y que normalmente en temporada de vacaciones es muy concurrido por los temporadistas.

Hacía mas de un año que no visitaba este bonito lugar, pero en verdad no ha cambiado mucho. La carretera tiene unos tramos en mal estado, pero está transitable, aunque deberían hacerle las reparaciones respectivas tomando en cuenta que es un sitio muy visitado.

Pero aparte del acceso, el lugar está muy bonito y han aumentado los puestos de comida que ya ocupan un buen tramo de la carretera. Allí ofrecen de todo: maíz sancochado, fresas con crema, parrilla, helados y una gran variedad de artesanías y dulces criollos.

Subimos a las lomas y alli noté que había gran cantidad de personas haciendo camping y montando a caballo.
Es un sitio ideal para llevar a la familia pues se pasa un buen rato entre la naturaleza, bajo un clima fresco de montaña y comiendo lo que nos gusta. En esta oportunidad mi esposa no pudo acompañarnos porque estaba visitando a su mamá en su pueblo natal.

La amiga de mi hija que nos acompañó es una estudiante de medicina nacida en Apure y está residenciada en Barquisimeto y, como buena llanera, le pareció muy extraño que la gente subiera a las lomas a comer maíz. Decía: -Como van a venir a comer maíz, eso lo comen las gallinas en mi tierra-

Ese comentario me causó mucha gracia y le dije que a los guaros nos gusta mucho la mazorca de maíz sancochado, además de otras costumbres que tenemos en este lado del país.

De verdad que fue una experiencia relajante, compartiendo con los jóvenes y también con un colega que conseguí por allá. Conversamos un largo rato de nuestras experiencias personales y familiares.

Celebrating Carnival with a family outing

Today I want to share with you an outing I took with my daughter, her boyfriend, and a friend of my daughter's to the town of Cubiro, a village located in the highlands of Lara State, which is usually very popular with vacationers during the holiday season.

It had been over a year since I last visited this beautiful place, but it really hasn't changed much. The road is in poor condition in some places, but it is passable, although repairs should be made considering that it is a very popular site.

However, apart from the access, the place is very beautiful and there are now more food stalls, which occupy a good part of the road. They offer everything there: boiled corn, strawberries with cream, grilled food, ice cream, and a wide variety of handicrafts and traditional sweets.

We climbed up the hills and there I noticed that there were lots of people camping and horse riding.
It's an ideal place to take the family because you can have a good time surrounded by nature, enjoying the cool mountain climate and eating whatever you like. On this occasion, my wife couldn't come with us because she was visiting her mother in her hometown.

My daughter's friend who accompanied us is a medical student born in Apure and living in Barquisimeto, and as a true llanera, she found it very strange that people would climb the hills to eat corn. She said: “Why would you come here to eat corn? That's what chickens eat in my country.”

That comment made me laugh, and I told her that we Guaros really like boiled corn on the cob, in addition to other customs we have on this side of the country.

It was truly a relaxing experience, spending time with the young people and also with a colleague I met there. We talked for a long time about our personal and family experiences.
