Damascus rose budsOn Sunday I didn’t get up until 6:45AM much to a cat’s disgust. I got the pitiful thing fed and finished up my post for the last 2 days. I got the kitchen cleaned up and the seedlings watered. Then I wandered around doing some of the odd jobs I’d intended to do on Saturday. Then back in my chair to rest.
On Friday morning I was up at 5:15AM and out in the gardens by 6AM. The first thing I did was finally get the lima beans planted. Next I weeded the green bean row, the Swiss chard, and the parsnips. I also had to thin the parsnips. Then I planted the green beans.
On Thursday morning I was up at 5:15AM. I had to clean up the kitchen before I could go to the gardens, so I never got out to the Big garden until 6:15AM.The first thing I did was plant and mulch the Cortland storage onions. I was short 3 plants so I planted 2 marigolds at the end.
On Wednesday morning I was up at 5:15AM but I had to get laundry started as I was running out of clothes. So I didn’t get outside until 6AM. As I headed out the back porch I noticed the seedlings needed feeding. But they also needed to go to the cold frame. So I had to move them before feeding.
I woke at 5AM on Tuesday morning and decided to go out and get started while it was still cold. There’d be no mosquitoes for a couple hours, I hoped. As I looked east towards the barn I could see the fog rising off the Connecticut River, 2 miles away.
New East garden, before cleaning outOn Monday morning I was up at 6AM and got the post up. I tried to start laundry and start the bills/budget, but decided that I really needed to take advantage of the cool weather so I headed out to do a flowerbed at 9AM.
