Good afternoon Hivers, I hope you are having a great day.

Today I bring you some images about the main attraction of the beautiful town of Villa de Leyva in Colombia, being this attraction the main concentration place for tourists and citizens.

This place is called "Plaza Central" as it was the beginning of the town, which was later expanded as more and more people came to live in the town, and where we can see parts of its history as the stones that make the ground where people step and that gives it its characteristic landscape.

I was able to hear from a guide that these stones were placed decades ago by the prisoners of the town while they were in charge of General Pinilla, who saw that the square needed something different to give it more beauty, for which the order was given that the prisoners had to pay their sentences with work.

These stones were brought from a river several kilometers away and the story goes that crime decreased as people saw that the sentences were about hard labor and not spending quality time in jail as it might be in some places in modern times.

This is the largest plaza in Colombia, second only to the Plaza de Bolivar in Bogota, which gives it another touch of history and beauty for those who want to visit something unique in Colombia.

Here my wife and I took the obligatory photo for everyone who comes, being this the great proof that we did visit Villa de Leyva.

Hoy les traigo unas imágenes sobre la atracción principal del hermoso puedo de Villa de Leyva en Colombia, siendo esta atracción el lugar de concentración principal para los turistas y ciudadanos.

Este lugar se llama "Plaza Central" ya que fue el inicio del pueblo, que luego fue expandido al llegar cada vez más personas a vivir en el pueblo, y donde podemos ver partes de su historia como las piedras que hacen el terreno donde las personas pisan y que le da su paisaje característico.

Pude escuchar de un guía que estas piedras fueron colocadas hace décadas por los presos de la ciudad mientras estaban al cargo del General Pinilla, quien vio que la plaza necesitaba algo diferente para darle más belleza, para lo cual se dio la orden de que los presos tenían que pagar sus condenas con trabajo.

Estas piedras fueron traídas de un río a varios kilómetros de distancia y dice la historia que los crimenes disminuyeron dado que las personas veían que las condenas eran referentes a trabajos duros y no a pasar un tiempo de calidad en la cárcel por si podría ser en algunos lugares en los tiempos modernos.

Esta es la plaza más grande de colombia, solo seguida de la plaza de Bolívar en Bogotá, lo cual le da otro toque de historia y belleza para quienes quieren visitar algo único en Colombia.

Aquí mi esposa y yo nos tomamos la foto obligada a todo aquel que viene, siendo esta la gran prueba de que si visitamos Villa de Leyva.
