Today I awoke and wrote my morning pages for the first time since before Christmas. Whilst doing so I had the idea to have a #coddiwomple experiment day. I only had one specific thing on my calendar so that should make it easier.
.
Whilst writing I also decided on a few things I wanted to get back to which have slipped - partly from getting out of the routine but mostly because I've had a chesty virus and have not had much energy. I'm still not 100% back to health but I can start gently.
The first thing requires no energy and that is to eat less sugar again. I was given liquorice and chocolates for my birthday and I've been munching my way through them every evening just because they were there. I have now removed them from the table beside my chair and put them on the top shelf of my wardrobe. That gives me more time to decide if I really want to eat them rather than mindlessly shovelling them in whilst watching Netflix. If I want one I'll at least have to take a bit of exercise to get them.
Second is returning to my 3 brisk, 10 minute walks a day. This I will have to play by ear a bit as yesterday, when I went out, I ended up completely sapping my energy and having an unpleasant coughing fit. Maybe I just need to remove the "brisk" for a while.
When I turned on the computer a YouTube video started playing. I'd abandoned it yesterday and must not have shut it down. When I went to turn it off my eye fell on a different video which I'd also watched previously "
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bvZZ-lbKFE".
I'm going to add this, or maybe an easier one to my 3 brisk walks routine, since this is an area of my body that needs attention as my knees and lower back would be the first to tell you!
Before turning on my computer I made myself a cup of coffee and got washed and dressed.
Then I had the idea to write this diary and it's now . . .

First on the UN-agenda (😂) is to check my #splinterlands playing accounts to see if they need speeding up . . . and I have the inkling to post a snap . . .

The above done, along with the glutes exercise, I'm now waiting for John to be ready to join me on my first brisk walk of the day.
While I'm waiting I'll use the time to find some photos to make this post a little more interesting . . .

Return from a very wet, windy and soggy walk. I tried to take a photo to illustrate how heavy the rain which was a big fail.
However, it turned into a great example of how one coddicomples. (Or, at least, how I coddiwomple).
The original thought was to use the pic in a snap but even for that, it was a bit too blah. So I decided to add a filter to it and 'et voila' it became more interesting. I like it so much I promoted it for use in this post. It doesn't portray what I set out to portray but it became quite arty farty which, as you know, I have a bit of a penchant for. I like it!

11:04 - 12.25
I did my #splinterlands monthly accounts (the one thing on my calendar) and was surprised to see just how long it took me to do them. I've never paid much attention before.
I was also surprised to see the earnings/value of assets were down. I thought they might be up this month given the general positivity in the markets and the fact that the value of #hive has almost doubled since last month.
Now I'm not sure what to do next except it will involve moving around a bit. I've been sitting in one place for too long.

Darn it! I succumbed to mindlessness and sitting on my arse for another hour. I started watching YouTube shorts and 60 minutes passed before I noticed. I'm not even sure why it was open anyway. It's not something I normally do on my laptop and it's most definitely not a habit I want to get into. Well that's easily dealt with . . . shut it down.
In response I went for my second walk of the day after doing the glute exercise.
This is a photo I took whilst out. It's still raining. So much so that the water is running down the tree trunks in the grooves and making bubbles. I have never noticed this before and yet it must have occured thousands of times in my life time.
This is one of the things I loved about blogging in the past. I noticed things more when I was out and about thinking I might use the photos I take at some point. I became more mindful of what was going on around me.
I have to admit I prefer this #coddiwomple 'in the moment' approach though. This way the photos get used in a more timely manner as opposed to those that are languishing in draft posts that I will probably never publish.
I have many such posts with their accompanying photos waiting for me to complete. Truth is I feel they require a decent amount of research about the subject matter and that part feels like a chore. Maybe I should just delete them?

Whilst writing the above John mentioned he was going to B&Q (a big DIY chain in the UK) and asked if I'd like to go. Why not? I thought. Who knows what adventures might await me there and, at the very least, I'd get a ride along the seafront.
As it turned out, there were no adventures. There was nothing to see of any note. No sale. No new gadgets I couldn't live without. Not that I'd have bought them anyway. But, hey ho, at least it got me out of my chair again. 😂
On our return I nipped into the house to use the loo, did my last glutes exercise and set off for my last walk of the day. The wind was even stronger this time making it hard to stand upright going round a couple of the corners.
And now it's 16:00
I'm pleased to be able to relax with a coffee and biscuit. Albeit it somewhat later than usual . . .
Now what do I do? Publish the post as is or wait until tomorrow and do some sort of conclusion?
Hmmm. OK. Post it as is. 😁
