There is so much good food available, made possible by the rich diversity of this multi-racial country. Sometimes, we don鈥檛 even need to travel abroad to try different cuisines because, wherever I go, there鈥檚 always something new I haven鈥檛 tasted yet. The abundance of choices makes it so exciting to try as many dishes as I can fit into my tummy.
It鈥檚 been a while since I had Japanese food, so I decided to visit one of the popular restaurants known for offering a nice variety of delicious food at affordable prices. The name of the restaurant is Sukiya!I鈥檝e often passed by one of their outlets and noticed that they鈥檙e always packed during lunchtime, with long queues forming outside. This is especially true for their branches located near office buildings in the city. Initially, I wondered why people flock to this place during lunchtime鈥攚as it because of the nice ambiance or the quality of the food? However, when I looked at their menu, I realized it was also very budget-friendly. I found this intriguing because Japanese cuisine is typically considered one of the more expensive options, especially here in Singapore.
Among the cuisines I enjoy, Western food is probably the one I eat the least frequently, but I savor it so much when I do. I think it鈥檚 the rarity of indulging in it that makes it feel extra special. It鈥檚 like the longer I go without it, the more I miss it, and that anticipation makes the flavors even more exciting.
I indulged in a food coma yesterday by enjoying two of my favorite dishes. These delicious but high-ingredient foods are typically recommended only in moderation. I had the popular Fried Hokkien Mee and an assortment of Kueh flavors from Nonya Bites.
One of my favorite dinner dishes is noodles. They're filling but don鈥檛 feel as heavy as a rice meal. Plus, the experience is even more enjoyable when the noodles are hand-pulled or knife-shaved.Last night, I visited a nearby food court in a shopping mall to try a knife-shaved noodle dish. I often go to a place called Food Republic because they serve decent-quality food at relatively good prices. Another thing I appreciate is that their portions are quite generous.
There's a specific Western food stall I always visit whenever I'm craving some delicious Western-style cuisine: Western 88! They have a stall at the Golden Mile Food Centre, known as one of the go-to spots for tasty, affordable food. Conveniently located along Beach Road, it鈥檚 easily accessible and just a 5-minute walk from the Nicoll Highway MRT station.
