Recently I received a card in the mail from a good friend of mine! It was a surprise...like most people we text or every few weeks have a phone call. But since we've moved on our new homestead, our reception is terrible! In the card, she asked if I wanted to be pen pals. Of course I do!
To my sweet Bunker Kitchen,In the last two weeks I've gotten to know you. What started out as a place to cook for my family in the interim before our forever kitchen is finished, has actually turned into a place of new exploration and fun family memories. Already. With little effort. And I feel so blessed! Please hold on to your counter tops as I cook and bake more than I have for years!
Morning sun The morning sun arched above the horizon. Glistening dew sparkled hello as the song birds sang their good mornings, and the lump in the sleeping bag next to Mia was as silent as a tranquilized gorilla. Mia, having noticed this and not at all surprised, stretched her legs and toes. She felt for her pants that were tucked away in her sleeping bag so they would stay warm during the night and wiggled them on. Her jacket, on the other hand, was unfortunately draped across a chair sitting in the corner of the tent.
It happened all at once. Bits of gravel spit into my face, grazing my cheek, an immediate, demanding itch raked my throat, and my middle finger slipped off the only grip I had left. My right knee banged hard against rock as I clung to the rope. Heart thumping, I slung my head back and sighed.
It's no secret that we found love early, and we grabbed a hold of it! It's been a great journey. But what was the moment that we knew that this was it? That there was no need to look any further for "the one"? Well, now we've launched into each of our stories that pin points when we knew that we had found the love of our lives!
If there is on thing that the Yeti and I both love, it's a good movie! We've spent years watching and rewatching our favorites, adding to the list of movies we love, and memorizing our favorite lines. It could even be argued, that most of our conversations include a quote or sometimes several with a hardy "Name that movie!" or "You don't know that one?!" afterwards. On a good day, we'll get all of them.
