I don't consider myself a winter swimmer for a simple reason.
I am not!
But although the calendar says that it is the end of December, it doesn't look or feel like winter at all. With temperatures above 20° Celsius (68° Fahrenheit) in the noon, how could it be?
The sea itself is hardly 5° Celsius (41° Fahrenheit) colder than it was in the heat of the summer and although this beach is a meeting point for winter swimmers, many of the people here, are not. For the simple reason that this isn't winter :)

The warm sunshine, the tourists lying down on the beach and the cruise ship anchored on the calm sea, they all indicate summer or at least fall but by no means winter!
If you are confused let me remind you that I am in Greece. A Mediterranean country indeed but on the northern hemisphere. You know the hemisphere that it is supposed to be in winter right now!

In the picture above you can see @traisto swimming. A little while later I joined her too. And I am not the most resilient person to cold.
Far from it :)
If you follow my blog for a while, you have probably seen this beach more than once. It is only 500 meters (1640 feet) away from the place I live and I have been an, almost, daily visitor since summer!
And it looks like that I'll keep visiting it for a little longer :)
