As we’ve been spending so much time in Springfield, Ohio, we wanted to get to know the surrounding area a little more. Ohio is home to an astonishing 136 designated State Nature Preserves, and one of the nearest to Springfield is Cedar Bog, just south of Urbana. On a sunny day, we drove up to check it out.

To mark the occasion, the ESC community commissioned Swiss artist Claudia Comte to create a 50-meter-long, bouncy house-like inflatable art installation called Lightning Symphony, located at Basel’s Messeplatz.I visited on the first day of the installation to capture this super colorful and playful piece, which is meant to evoke the visual rhythm of soundwaves. If you’re in Basel for the Song Contest, make sure to check it out – it’s hard to miss, as it sits at the heart of the Eurovision Village.

Yesterday, they were testing the LED light show for Eurovision 2025 at the Novartis Pavillon, and I was lucky to get a sneak peek of it, which I’ve shared with our YouTube subscribers.This Saturday, I’ll be walking around the city – there will be tons of different Eurovision events happening throughout Basel. I’ll make sure to visit the Eurovision Village, the Boulevard, and some public viewing points. So stay tuned for more #ESC2025 content

From my mom’s place in Springfield, Ohio, downtown Dayton is just a short 25-minute drive, but somehow, we had never spent any time there. But this year, we made it our mission. We were going to devote a full day to Dayton, and we were going to love it! We were sure of it!

First, we grabbed some lunch and then set out for a walk. We loved the old architecture, strolled down to the river, discovered the old dome of the arcade, and wrapped up our walk with a beer back in the Oregon District, which follows the DORA policy – Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area. This allows you to enjoy a beer while walking around, similar to the To-Go Cup system in Savannah, GA.
