For me Kentaro Miura was a true hero for a multiple reasons. He wrote my all time favorite fantasy books about a man named Guts who keeps on struggling against impossible odds, fights godlike beings and at the same time deals with various trauma that would break most other people. In the beginning of his journey Guts was armed only with his giant sword, cannon arm and his immovable will to keep fightinting. Yes Guts to is a hero in my eyes. But this time I want to talk more about real people and not a fictional characters. Miura was one of the best examples of hard work and dedication you could ever find. In this post I will show you a few Berserk manga panels and I am sure that you will be amazed by details and hard work Miura put in his books. For me at least it is hard to believe that a human hand (even with few assistants) could ever make something like that. So I consider Berserk not only the best fantasy books ever created but also some of the best pieces of art period. I also admire the fact that Miura dedicated decades of his life to Berserk. He was creating these books for nearly as long as I am alive.(1989-2021). When Miura was young he was assisting another great manga author George Morikawa but Morikawa quickly acknowledged Miura's high artistic level and dismissed him, saying there was nothing he could teach that Miura did not already know. As he grow older Miura's art became more and more magical and magnificent. Not only was Miura very talented and dedicated to his art. He also had a vision of the dark story he wanted to tell. I admire him for telling a story where religion is at times shown in negative light, where is a lot of gore, violence and abuse. I think that many authors would have either not dared to address such subjects or would have let others opinion dictate what they should create. But Miura walked his own path and died doing what he loved. For me that makes him a true hero and an inspiration. ![IMG_20240726_123909.jpg](
