I'll go through the original post point by point, as many questionable assumptions made in the post are stated as fact.When I say 'the author' in this article, I'm referring to the author of "The Case for Conclave Arcana pack prices at 4,000 DEC" post.

It is with a very heavy heart that I write this post.Phil Lesh, bass player and founding member of the Grateful Dead, passed away peacefully yesterday on the morning of October 25th, 2024, surrounded by family. He was 84.

Packs. Well here’s a whole can of worms lol!! But… since you asked… @thepeoplesguild It seems to be widely regarded that $2 was the ‘sweet spot’ for standard Splinterlands packs. I have heard this sentiment from SO many community members, team members, whales, minnows etc, etc etc. Many of these same people will also express some regret that we ‘can’t go back’ to $2 packs since we have since sold two core sets at $4/pack.Personally, I agree with the sentiment that $2 core packs were the sweet spot. But ‘we can’t go back’?? That I do not agree with. Not one bit.

Getting new players is, hands down, the most important thing in the world for Splinterlands right now. I know this is a big claim. But.BOTTOM LINE: We need new players. And we need them YESTERDAY. Everything about the SPL economy revolves around the concept of digital scarcity driving demand. This model assumes a constantly expanding player base in order to function properly.

After an excellent and inspiring conversation on The People’s Guild (@thepeoplesguild), and at the encouragement of @azircon and @bjangles, I’ve decided to start writing about my ‘day job’. The quick version: I spent about 6 years as the lead guitarist in a band called “Mountain of Venus”, living on the road, touring the United States playing music. It was an amazing experience, one that led to many lifelong friends as well as contacts in the music industry. I may go into more of those stories at some point in the future lol!! Skip ahead 20 years. I own and operate Fat Jimmy Amplifiers as a one man operation; a top shelf, boutique, guitar tube amplifier company. I live in the north part of the San Francisco Bay Area, which has been an absolutely integral center of the modern creative arts, especially music and film. The original Star Wars trilogy was created right down the road. And bands like the Grateful Dead, local legends, have been pushing not only live music itself but the actual DELIVERY of live music (to huge live audiences) forward for almost 50 years, out of necessity, through innovations in gear and PA systems designed to improve sound delivery to enormous crowds. All of these things will make fun posts, and I will go into greater detail on those topics in the near future.
