The entire world is becoming more violent as the day goes by just because most parents have refused to take proper responsibility of taking care of their children.
There has been a debate on who takes care of the child or children at home. Most say it's the responsibility of the mother to take care of the children in the family, while the father provides for the family.
Whether it's the father's responsibility to provide for the family or the mother's, what is most important here is the upbringing of the child that matters to the society, although what is done at home will play about 50% of what the child becomes in the future.
In societies such as mine (Africa), it is believed that the mother spends more time with the children than the father. This is because the society solely believes that the father should go out on a daily basis to work and provide for the family while the mother stays at home to care for the children from birth.
Things have changed drastically as more women today are educated and are co-financial supporter in the family. Due to lack of planning in the family, this had caused more damage to the upbringing of the child or children. Just imagine both parents leaving the house at the same time and handing over the child to a maid who is very tender. How can a child take care of a child.
This situation has made some maids to exploit the kids in the house sexually and exposed them to illicit sex at a tender age. Making the society suffer from who (rapist) the child becomes tomorrow.
This post isn't written to apportion blame on the father or mother both to see how both parents can be delibrate in the responsibility of child upbringing.
Swallow your pride to see to the good upbringing of the children. Most of the crimes the society is suffering today is because you allowed the child to seek answers from their peers and those who wants to take advantage of them.
We can make the world a better place by accepting our responsibility as parents.
