Base performance is one thing for the new AMD cards, but another question for many people is if they improved their encoding at all for the new AMD cards which is more and more of a big selling point for anyone who uses their card for streaming as well.
Encoding is certainly their cards weak point now. It's funny to think they're currently actually in third place for encoding since they were already behind nvidia with their NVENC, and intel actually came in ahead of nvidia with alchemist GPU's AV1 encode/decode they support
Encoding is certainly a lot more important these days with more and more and more people getting into content creation, and intel really set the bar with alchemist having straight up AV1 full encode/decode support right out of the gate
There's even been plenty of people, even Linus, have the idea of even potentially using a dirt cheap alchemist GPU in a boards bottom most slot through chipset PCIE lanes purely as a dedicated AV1 encoder card for streaming.
