Time Reveals All Things (Deceits of the Eyes)

As humans we tend to be moved by the things we see with our eyes more than those we don't see. Unfortunately, for man, it is within that his true essence is buried, This is why we easily fall into the trap of judging things wrongly. In our world today, there are many wolves in the sheep clothing. People who are evil hide under good clothingyou barely can tell who is good and who is not.

Life is very complicated, and I must confess only God fully comprehend it, we have different beliefs, different cultures, different mode of dressing, different traits and so on. What is right to Mr A can be considered offensive or wrong to Mr B. For instance, in the aspect of dressing, there are some persons who disagree with women wearing trousers. Once they see you as a lady on a trouser, they already conclude that you are bad.

If we will take a close scrutiny of what made that person's perception to be so, we may end up discovering that, it is either because he used to know a person who wears trouser and was bad before or he/she was given the idea by someone.

One thing most people fail to understand is that everyone is not thesame, even identical twins have their own differences. You can't just go ahead judging someone from what you saw or experienced from the life of another person, you may end up being wrong and making an innocent person suffer for nothing.

Although, we can't really tell who the good ones are because we don't have the ability to see the heart, but we can see the fruits of goodness being displayed in their lives. Same applies with the evil ones. You will know through their traits, and that might take you some time to ascertain. But just jumping into conclusion by seeing a person on few occasions can be very dangerous.

Because a person looks or dressed certain way does not mean he/she is really like that, you will need time to find out, who they really are. Some looks are just customes. We need not allow them be the basis for our judgements. We need to go beyond the costumes and uncover what is within first, before we can draw conclusions

Normally, i consider people who don't smile and always frown as harsh people. For someone like me who is very emotional, I make sure I avoid anything that has to do with them because I value my peace a lot .

I have this neighbor who is a police officer, his facial appearance is very tough, he looks very strict and harsh on the face to worsen the situation, he doesn't know how to speak calmly. If you see him conversing with someone on the phone, you will think as if they are quarrelling.

All these things I saw in him when I moved to the area newly made me conclude that he is a very harsh and wicked man. So I tried my best to avoid him. The only thing that joins I and him is just greetings but as time goes on, I had need and I had no option than to start visiting his house .

I tell you it was never my desire at all. What was that need? There is water scarcity in the area and amongst the few house that have water source, his house is one and it is the closest to mine.

Seeing I don't have any option, I visit the house whenever I need water. one of those days, I came and there was no one except him, oh boy! My heart cut, I wanted to go back home and come back later atleast when his wife is around because she is cool. But I decided to gather myself together and enter inside. When i greeted him, he answered me very well and I was wondering, ah ! Ah! Is this not the harsh man I used to know?

He went inside and brought the drawer for me, because it is a well and asked me to take it inside when I am done. After that day. The next time I came to get water and I met him, he asked if I have any need and I told him no, he then told me that I shouldn't hesitate to come to his house and ask for anything In case I am in need.

It didn't end there, this man took me as his child, and sends food to me anytime he notices I am at home and also doesn't hesitate to give me counsel on things I need to do because I am living alone. Truly, looks can be so deceptive. I misjudged the man by his looks and he turned out to be the direct opposite of all I ever thought or imagined when I drew near to him

Lesson
Looks are just costumes, for you to truly understand a person, you must draw close to him/her. The fact that a person speaks harshly or looks tough or simple on the face doesn't mean that is the way he is on the inside. Some of those things are just their nature and not really who they are.

I Was Right About it
Sometimes, we can easily predict a thing when we observe and relate it with previous experiences.

There is this guy in my former area whom I often call Dad because he bears thesame name with my father. He used to be a very gentile guy and everyone in the community likes him so much.

Last year he traveled out In search of greener pasture, so that he can support his mom and younger ones. He lost his dad while he was growing up. There are a lot of responsibilities on him and honestly I respect his hard working nature.

When he came back from where he was working, everything about him changed, the way he talks, the way he dresses and so on. The first day I came in contact with him, I just perceived that he has started smoking and drinking alcohol, his lips turns dark and few other symptoms were there. Well I had to keep that within me because, they said seeing is believing.

My former area is a rough place, there are palm wine joints and place for gin everywhere. If you want to high, you are welcome. Just make sure you come with someone who can carry you home 😄

I was passing through one of the shops selling gin one day and someone who knew me called from within, because the place is covered, outside it is a provision store but the inside is a jungle 😁 when I heard my name I decided to draw near.

It was a friend I have not seen for a while so I decided to just enter inside and say hi. Guess who I saw smoking cigarette? The gentle guy whom I call Dad. I felt very bad when I saw him, although I knew it somehow from within. I felt bad because, I didn't expect him to go into something like that but not everyone is strong enough to handle the blows of life.

Lesson
Although not all we see are true but we don't need to totally neglect our intuitions, they maybe right sometimes yet we should not conclude until proven true. Time will reveal all things. No matter how people pretend or try to hide, it won't last forever.
