Social media has its own way of magnifying a lot of things. A lot of things we didn’t pay much attention to,once it hits the Instas and TikToks, it blows off and becomes a huge trend. Now we’re talking about soft life, and it goes all the way back to the socials. First, it started with the discovery of the word “steeze,” which basically means doing things your own way and with ease. Not being bothered by anything.

I’m literally here right now with a headache slowly sneaking its way in. Not because I’ve overworked myself or been thinking too hard, far from it. I just got back from a fun weekend with my family, one of my cousin sisters got married, and it felt like the whole family was present. For me, that alone was enough to make the weekend special. But even more, it was a beautiful getaway. A break from the usual. I reunited with distant cousins I hadn’t seen in years, and those heartwarming moments of catching up, laughing, sharing jokes, and dancing our hearts out brought a wave of inner peace I didn’t know I needed.

I am someone who likes my meals to taste and look a particular way for me to actually enjoy them. Heavy on the taste, I think it’s the main reason I love to cook. It doesn’t matter if the sky is falling, I’ll always make my own meals. Right now, I’m convinced it’s a family trait because whenever I visit my sisters, they won’t let me cook their meals.

On April 1st, 2025, the first Hive meetup of the year took place in Aba, Abia State. The event was hosted by Happy Customer Supermarket, courtesy of @focusnow. This wasn’t just another gathering, it was an opportunity for Hivers in the city to connect, share ideas, and learn from one another. Over time, Happy Customer Supermarket has hosted numerous Hive-related workshops, all of which I’ve attended. However, this time around, a general meetup was necessary to bring together Hivers from all walks of life. The choice of venue was also strategic, as it allowed attendees to conveniently shop after learning about the @spendhbd community.

I still remember one fateful day when I had to write my post, but instead of typing, I just kept staring at my friend over my laptop. She was sitting right in front of me, and I was lost in thought, trying to gather the words in my head into something readable. She noticed and asked why I was staring at her, and I said, "Don't move, I'm getting inspiration."

One of the packages life comes with is that you don’t always get what you expect or what you think you deserve. It is just as uncertain as that. But as humans, we all have things we want, things we expect to go a certain way or lead to a certain outcome. And when those things don’t happen, it makes us sad, disappointed even. It happens to everyone, once or twice. Disappointment hurts even more when it comes from people close to us. With those people, we don’t expect that they would do something that would make us sad. Sometimes, it comes unintentionally, but it happens, and it’s not something we canot control.
