Generated with DALL-EYesterday I received a couple of messages alerting me that my witness was signing twice.
Something completely normal, because it was intentional.
Three years ago, when I started with this witness (10/02/2022), I had nowhere near the technical knowledge to even remotely understand what I was doing. I still wanted a witness node, so I collaborated with
@balaz to help me with the technical details.
The day before yesterday I finally decided to take the plunge and assumed full management of the node.
@empo.witness was signing x2 for that reason. Let the machine catching up and simply went to bed.
I started with the easiest option. The Privex preconfigured node Hive-in-a-box.
CPU: 4 Core
RAM: 16 GB
SSD: 500 GB
OS: Ubuntu 20.04
I know it's not the best option in terms of specs but for now it does the work while I get used to everything. I have plans to purchase a VPS with better specs in a few months max.
For the more tech-savvy, it may not be that big of a deal... but it's hard for me to put into words the satisfaction I feel at this moment.
It was a pending subject. A thorn in my side that was there, bothering me from time to time.

@balaz for all the patience he has with me. If you feel like setting up a witness node and you don't know how to start, he is your man. You know what they say:
''The only lost venture is the one that is never started.''
I'm very happy to move forward in this new stage as witness.
Question for witnesses. Is there any communication channel where I should be to solve technical questions or simply get assistance? I will probably need it sooner rather than later.
