Festividades en Altagracia, Isla de Margarita [Esp/Eng]

Saludos queridos y apreciados amigos, feliz y bendecido día tengan todos ustedes, el día de hoy paso por acá primeramente deseándoles un feliz año nuevo y para compartir con todos ustedes unas hermosas fotografías de lo que fueron las festividades en honor a la patrona de la población de Altagracia, isla de Margarita. Estas festividades inician el primero de enero de cada año con la bajada de la sagrada imagen de su altar para colocarla un poco más cerca de su feligresía, esta es una celebración que se da en varios días, pues dias siguiente, te acostumbraba a realizar diferentes actividades como cantos, reinados, paseo de música, juegos artificiales, salves, procesión por todo el pueblo y demás.

Greetings, dear and beloved friends. I hope you all have a happy and blessed day. Today, I am here first to wish you a happy new year and to share with you some beautiful photographs of the festivities in honor of the patron saint of the town of Altagracia, on Margarita Island.
These festivities begin on January 1st of each year with the descent of the sacred image from its altar to place it a little closer to its congregation. This is a celebration that takes place over several days, as the following days are usually filled with different activities such as singing, pageants, music parades, fireworks, salves, processions throughout the town, and more. </center

Sin embargo por la situación actual que está aconteciendo en nuestro país todas estas actividades fueron suspendidas dejando solo las actividades de índole religiosos. Así pues que luego de este primero de enero de su bajada solo se te avisó el día 5 si salgo en la parroquia y luego el día de ayer 6 de enero su tradicional misa en horas de la mañana y para la tarde una nueva eucaristía y procesión solo por el alrededor de la iglesia.

However, due to the current situation in our country, all these activities were suspended, leaving only religious activities.
So, after January 1st, when she came down, we were only notified on the 5th if she would be leaving the parish, and then yesterday, January 6th, there was her traditional morning mass and, in the afternoon, a new Eucharist and procession only around the church.

Yo lamentablemente no pude asistir en hora de la mañana pero sin embargo decidí planificar realizar mi visita en horas de la tarde para mostrar y agradecer a nuestra patrona, así que nos fuimos a eso de las 4 de la tarde de manera de llegar antes de que iniciaste la eucaristía y poder estar un rato para admirar y agradecer a nuestros sagrada imagen. Esta tarde en compañía de mi madre y mis dos pequeños nos fuimos caminando hasta la iglesia la cual se encuentra a unos 15 minutos de casa.

Unfortunately, I couldn't attend in the morning, but I decided to plan my visit for the afternoon to show my gratitude to our patron saint. So, we left at around 4 p.m. to arrive before the Eucharist began and to be able to spend some time admiring and thanking our sacred image.
That afternoon, accompanied by my mother and my two little ones, we walked to the church, which is about 15 minutes from home.

Y pues a pesar de que las actividades eran solo religiosas sí había una gran cantidad de personas acompañando la eucaristía y luego la sagrada imagen alrededor de la plaza. De culminada la procesión nos vinimos rápidamente pues andaba con mi bebé apenas dos meses y la verdad aún no me gusta sacarlo cuando el clima está frío y de noche, pero como pueden ver en algunas fotografías las cuales tal vez no estén perfectamente enfocadas pues fueron capturadas por mi pequeña nuestra sagrada imagen de la virgen de Altagracia estaba muy hermosa jodeada de bellas y coloridas flores y la iglesia también estaba totalmente para la ocasión, y pues a pesar de que esta celebración en este año no fue como años anteriores a mí me pareció muy hermoso y sencilla.

And even though the activities were only religious, there were a lot of people attending the Eucharist and then the sacred image around the square.
When the procession ended, we left quickly because I was carrying my two-month-old baby, and I don't like to take him out when the weather is cold and at night. But as you can see in some of the photographs, which may not be perfectly focused because they were taken by my little girl, our sacred image of the Virgin of Altagracia was very beautiful, surrounded by beautiful, colorful flowers, and the church was also fully decorated for the occasion. And even though this year's celebration was not like previous years, I found it very beautiful and simple.
