It is true that, in order to establish a stronger communicative relationship in the vertical direction, one needs to - once in a while - disconnect from the horizontal; though, not forsaking the assembling of believers together and exhorting one another (Hebrew 10:25). We are hereby strongly advised as Christians to converse together in consonance with the ways of the Lord.

In this journey through the celestial path, we need to - in order to prevent drowsiness - fall into good discourse beginning from where God began with us: sharing testimonies, exhorting one another, taking "sweet counsel" with others in the ways of God but ensuring that the centre of it all is the Lord Jesus Christ. Let the pure eye of faith be - at all times - looking unto him; fill your heart with his word and let your lips announce his worth.
If you remember that you are going to heaven, you will not attempt sleeping on the way. If you also acknowledge that hell is behind you and that the devil is pursuing you, then you will not roam about.
Note that the following points.
Christians who isolate themselves and walk alone, are very liable to to grow drowsy.
If you keep Christian company, you will be kept wakeful by it.
If you keep Christian company, you will be refreshed and encouraged to make quick progress in the road to heaven.
If you live near the Cross as a Christian, you will definitely not fall asleep.
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober (1 Thessalonians 5:6).
