I wouldn't know if calling this particular thing is a skill but so far so good, the many acquaintances I have had, are because of that. I am not an expert, but my years, in handling it have helped me know more about it and I could confidently advise someone on the right step to take..
I am a naturalist and have been one for seven years and counting, it has not been an easy journey, especially navigating my way through as a novice, but I am proud that I stuck to learning more about it and now, I can tell someone tips on how to take care of their hair especially natural hair.
At first, it wasn't my plan to begin the natural hair journey, it wasn't my plan to be among the 'natural hair gang' like we would always call those who are on their natural coils, I mean I have been a 'relaxer gang' all my life until when I decided to try it out but it wasn't intentional.
I mean, I had to barb my hair and go on low cut because I had a job and got too busy to care for my hair like an average lady, but when I finally left the job and I decided that I wanted my hair back and decided to start growing my hair, and along the line, I didn't want to go near any hair relaxer, just wanted to try out new things because I have had a lot of bad experiences using relaxers.

My natural hair journey began, but as a novice, I didn't have an idea of how to care for my hair, and at a point in time, I got a lot of criticism because it felt like my hair wasn't growing. After years of navigating through, I decided to learn more and sit under professionals, people who knew how to take care and had experiences and evidence.
Today, when people ask about my hair, and how they love the hair, I go all out to show them that they can achieve the length, their problem, and how they can tackle it, only if they are determined to, it just needs a simple regime to make your hair thrive.
I find myself on Instagram, YouTube, or whatever place or media that would give me more knowledge about taking care of my natural hair and having healthy and long natural hair because that's the best thing.
I see that as a skill because I always find myself talking a lot about it when given the opportunity, although it is not an earning skill it is something I love doing, and doing it full time one day and maybe one day become a brand ambassador for a natural hair product or maybe get paid for using my hair on a billboard or hair salon.
PS: This is the picture of my friend who is also on natural hair.
