Last week, some commotion started in the Bitcoin scene around the latest video published by Blackrock Decrypt article. Although a bit hidden, Blackrock expresses that the max supply of 21 Million Bitcoin is not guaranteed and may be subject to change. Those who know Bitcoin sufficiently enough, know this topic is not new.
About four years ago, I established this (Q Inspired-by-Music) community. At first, I was quite active on all sides of things, including content creation and engagement. Later, my activities reduced themselves to (mostly) keeping the community in line with my original thoughts for this community and curating content.
Time flies! Already a bit more than two weeks ago, I set out for a weekend trip to the capital city of Germany, Berlin. A trip I make a few times a year. A trip different to many other travellers. The goal was not a city trip to play tourists but to meet friends and family. A trip to hang out while eating great food and dancing together in the best clubs of Berlin. Heck, the best clubs in Europe. Perhaps even the best clubs in the world.
A few weeks after the first attack on Donald Trump's life - last July - I listened to a Dutch podcast that left a big impression on me. The editor of 'De Correspondent' - an independent journalist platform - worded his concerns and thoughts in a way that resonated with my thoughts. Therefore, I decided to transcribe and translate the podcast/essay and share it below. In the text, I added remarks here and there to correct or extend specific statements, as well as to provide my thoughts. All additions in [brackets and cursive font]
Gamification is something that is proposed in many different segments. Bring the entertainment and competition elements to for instance the office environment to collectively drive not only product and service innovation but also organisational changes down to figuring out better models to work with other teams. Or into a social network like HIVE (no words about whether HIVE gamification works or not 😉).
Last Friday my team lead at the office asked me: "Edje, will you be at the customer on Monday?" My reaction: "Not sure, depends on when my friends let me go on Sunday" Laughter followed.Sunday (and most of Monday) is history by now. The answer is given. I did not travel 100 kilometres (one way) to visit our customer. They had to deal with me remotely, in a Mickeysoft Teams call with my camera switched off. Surprisingly, I was kinda sharp. Not that it mattered too much since I had some colleagues in the workshop/call who were the specialists, therefore I could easily lay low for most of the session. The no-physical-show question by our customer's program manager, I waved away by stating: "Your conference room is already too occupied, something the little angels told me this morning. I wouldn't have fitted." Chuckles and laughter followed.
