Espero que pasaran un lindo día de las madres, ya sea que fueran la festejada o que participaran de festejar a alguna madre querida por ustedes. Yo ahora resido en Argentina y el día de las madres no será hasta octubre, peroooo como buena venezolana no perdí la oportunidad de aprovechar la excusa y celebrar en familia. Así que me dejé consentir al mil por ciento.

Pero no es ese el tema principal de esta publicación, sino compartirles sobre unos preciosos amigurumis. Estos días me pidieron recrear un personaje que hice por primera vez el año pasado, un simpático Pokémon llamado Totodile y que me recuerda mucho a un juguete que tenía el personaje animado de Tomy, en los Rugrats (seguro saben de quién hablo), un dinosaurio llamado Reptar. Aunque Reptar era verde y era un personaje más bien inspirado en Gotzila, yo siento que hay cierto parecido.

Hacer cada piecita con cuidado para luego unirlas, esta vez es mucho más rápido debido a la variedad de ganchillos que tengo a mano y la deatreza que he ganado en estos meses. Mientras que la primera vez que los hice no disponia de tantas herramientas y las partes mas pequeñitas se complicaron un poco más.

Disfruto mucho de hacer los ojos, incluso se me ocurrió que este tipo de ojos le pueden quedar muy bien a un gato o una serpiente, y es que esa pupila alargada y amenazante aporta mucho caracter. Aunque al final resultó ser un personaje adorable.

Una de las cosas que me pasa por la mente es que si hago este mismo patrón, pero en verde tengo una base perfecta para un dinosaurio y eso me encanta. Me gustan los patrones versátiles que con pequeños detalles me permiten hacer personajes diferentes. Así dominado un patrón tengo muchos posibles personajes para crear.

Después me di cuenta que de todas maneras no hay dos iguales, siempre quedan los muñequitos con pequeñas variaciones ya sea por petición del cliente o por alguna otra circunstancia, pero ambos con mucha personalidad.

Me encanta hacer amigurumis y dar vida a estos personajes, pero me gusta aún más el brillo en los ojos de quienes los reciben. Tanto adultos como niños, se les nota la emoción al reconocer al personaje.

I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day, whether you were the one being celebrated or you participated in celebrating a mother you loved. I now live in Argentina, and Mother's Day isn't until October, but like a true Venezuelan, I jumped at the chance to take advantage of the opportunity and celebrate with my family. So, I let myself be pampered a thousand percent.

But that's not the main topic of this post; rather, I'd like to share some beautiful amigurumis with you. I was asked to recreate a character I made for the first time last year, a friendly Pokémon called Totodile, which reminds me a lot of a toy that the animated character Tomy had in Rugrats (I'm sure you know who I'm talking about), a dinosaur called Reptar. Although Reptar was green and was more inspired by Gotzila, I feel there's a certain resemblance.

Making each piece carefully and then joining them together is much faster this time thanks to the variety of crochet hooks I have on hand and the skill I've gained over the months. The first time I made them, I didn't have as many tools, and the smaller parts were a bit more complicated.

I really enjoy making eyes. It even occurred to me that these types of eyes could look great on a cat or a snake, as that elongated, menacing pupil adds a lot of character. Although in the end, it turned out to be an adorable character.

One of the things that crosses my mind is that if I make this same pattern in green, I'll have a perfect base for a dinosaur, and I love that. I like versatile patterns that allow me to create different characters with small details. Once I master a pattern, I have many possible characters to create.

Later, I realized that no two are alike. There are always little dolls with slight variations, either at the client's request or due to some other circumstance, but both have a lot of personality.

I love making amigurumis and bringing these characters to life, but I love the sparkle in the eyes of those who receive them even more. Both adults and children can see the excitement when they recognize the character.
