In one of the typical outings that I do with my husband for dinner, drink something or just walk, we had the opportunity to enter a place that always caused us a lot of curiosity because every time we passed by there we saw it completely full, that gave us to understand that the place had to be good and we set as a goal to enter sometime. This very night that I am writing this we had the opportunity and surprisingly it was completely empty, there were only two people who were about to leave, we suppose that this miracle is due to the fact that it is Tuesday and that it was late at night.

This place is called D'Julia / Bakery - Café - Pastry Shop and it is next to a large and busy bakery, as you can see, it is not exactly an exclusive coffee shop as they also offer juices, frappes, sodas, sandwiches, empanadas, tamales and pastries in general. The aforementioned made me think that the coffee would not necessarily be good, since it is not a specialized place, it would probably be a very standard coffee, but it remained to be seen.

I didn't spend much time looking at the menu because I immediately noticed a Caramel Frappe (USD$ 4.00) that looked spectacular in the picture, but I had doubts if it contained coffee, so I asked the waitress about the ingredients and she confirmed that this frappe has 2 servings of espresso in its mix, so that's what I ordered.
I must say that as soon as I tried it I was totally in love, the coffee flavor was quite strong, the level of sweetness was practically perfect, with each sip the fear that it was going to be a very sweet drink because it contained caramel was disappearing, I enjoyed it from start to finish, it was definitely satisfying and I was left wanting more.

My husband on the other hand, preferred to order a hot drink and in this case it was a mocha coffee with cream (USD$ 2.70), I don't particularly like chocolate but according to him it was quite balanced in flavor and sweetness, I was struck by the whipped cream topping and the chocolate syrup at the bottom which was quite thick and bitter. Like my Frappe, this mocha was garnished with roasted coffee beans, although this one had a little cinnamon shower; and well, I should mention that the little cookie was eaten by me 😅.

A not minor fact of this little outing, is that the main objective was to have dinner and then go home, but the burgers we ate did not completely fill our stomach so we had room for something else, so in addition to these two spectacular coffees, we decided to share an Apple Pie (USD$ 1.20) which was up to the circumstances, it was not so sweet and felt fresh, was it enough? well, actually yes, after this we felt more than satisfied.

Taking into account that it was not planned to drink coffee in this dinner outing, we were delighted with what we tasted, besides, we understood why this place is always full of people and there is almost never space to sit down, it turns out that it is a place that offers good quality in all its products, there is no doubt that we will return soon.
