Hello Hivers, welcome to my weekly Splinterlands Post. My post here is about BATTLE MAGE SECRETS event and today
BATTLE MAGE SECRETS is about BRIAR PATCH rulsets. Currently I am far from being healthy, so don't get surprise if this post is very simple and short compared to other my regular Splinterlands posts.
BRIAR PATCH is a ruleset that makes every monsters in battlefield get Thorn abilities. This is the ruleset of anti Melee, which most people will go with Magic, then some with a combination of Magic-Range. Very Simple isn't it, avoid using Melee Monsters, use more on range and magic.
Easy to say, sometime things aren't as simple like that. In this opportunity I will share an ocassion where all plans can go right. What happen if we have to use Melee during this ruleset? Let's check the battle guys!!

THE BATTLE RULESET
See? this was a nasty combination ruleset. We had to use Melee only monstler during Briar Patch ruleset. So how would we do in this sitution? I had one thing in my mind, its Reflection Shield ability. I woould build a team which relied on these two monsters.
Runi and Tide biter, these two would play great part in my team. With the reflection shield ability, they were immune to those thorny stuffs.
This also means I would go with the water team. any other monsters were meant to support this two, lets see how things would progress...
THE BATTLE

This was a Diamond League Modern Rank Battle, however both of us using water element. My team was focused on defense, thats why we came with double reflection shield ability users and a disintegrator to demoralize opponents' melee damage. My opponent was more on offensive approach, he used deep lurker and demented sharks. Let see how this would go.
ROUND 1
- The battle started with both of us Buffing up our team and debuffing our opponents.
- My opponent came with 14 effective Melee Damage
- My team had 9 effective Melee damage
- My team came with a more superior Attacks and speed, things looked bad on my side.
ROUND 2
- Round 2 started with both of our side still had full team members. None died yet.
- In this round both of our main tanks, the Diemonsharks, died at the same time
ROUND 3
- Things did not look good on my team. The gap was widen, now it became 4 vs 5.
ROUND 4
- Round 4 started with 2 vs 4 conditon, I almost lost all hope to win here
ROUND 5 AND THE REST
- I liked how my team was still able to fight back with a lot disadvantages from beginning. this proved my strategy was not bad
- lets fast forwards the battle. I knew I could not win this one
- It's all over now, Good Game
CLOSURE AND DISCUSSION
This is the first time I have made a post about Splinterlands while my team is the losing one. I made a strategy about using a Reflection Shield during the Briar Patch and lost, however I was very happy with this battle because there were some points that we could learn from this one.
1. REFLECTION SHIELD DOES WORK IN BRIAR PATCH
I might lose the battle, however the battle showed us that the stars in this battle were Runi and Venator Kinjo, both had the Reflection Shield. Actually both of us using double Reflection Shield, and both of our Reflection Shield users were the one that running the show.
2. LUX VEGA IS OP
I lost due to my opponents having higher levels. I was using a max gold level cap monsters and my opponents came with Diamond Level monsters. However for me that's not an excuse, I already prepared for this condition when I came into Diamond League using my Gold level cap monsters.
The only excuse I would use is the LUX VEGA. I lost this battle due to her +1 health point. She should be banned from Splinterlands, or the right words that her existence is one of the biggest mistake ever made by the Developer. I have enough seeing almost half of my opponents using LUX VEGA, as if she is the only summoner they have.
