The rhododendrons are beautiful in Tilgate Park this year! As I passed through today on a cycle ride, I spotted this huge red coloured tree with flowers all over, hanging down. It was a good opportunity for a few photos.I continued on my way through the park, on my way out into the wider forest area where it was very quiet. Not a soul to be seen . Probably because it was threatening to rain! I did feel a few drops of the wet stuff as I was riding.

We had a damp day of weather today. Whilst on our school run today it was raining steadily but not too heavily. I spotted an unusual tree in Worth Park. It is a tulip poplar, and has lovely flowers that do resemble tulips, as you can see in my photos.

Time to relax and have a beer! After the usual family duties (baby sitting) and some shopping (this is a daily routine) , we had time for a quick one at a nice country pub called the Frog and Nightgown. It was a day of broken sunshine, but the temperature was nothing to write home about, so we didn't hang around too long! The beer, however, was very good. I chose a pint of real ale called Shere Drop, which is brewed by the Surrey Hills Brewery.

I failed to reach the minimum 5k steps today. I wasn't far short, but I suppose that is no excuse, really.I spent most of the day doing chores and car related jobs like washing the bird droppings off. Disgusting job! The problem is that my car is parked in a car park which has a couple of very large oak trees with overhanging branches. Unfortunately, these trees provide good roosting cover for the pigeons, of which there are many, and this quite often results in a nasty mess. 🤢

While out and about today, I spotted a flower in a patch of grass. There were a few scattered amonst the grass under trees in the semi shaded area.I have seen these before, but passed by. On this occasion, I took a few photos to help find out more about them.

I promised myself yesterday that I would take a cycle ride today. It was so good to get out there again. I left mid afternoon in the warmth of the sun as we still have cool starts in the morning. On the outward leg of this ride, I passed by a field of clover and other wild flowers, which had been planted by the farmer after crops last year. This is a large field, and it was a magnificent sight with the reddish and white flowers as far as the eye can see!
