Trying to keep my drone batteries in tip top condition, I do tend to go and fly the drone even if I have no intention of taking any photos or video with it, a few days ago I did just that and was surprised by the rays of light that was kicking off over towards Sheffield city centre. I couldn't see them from where I was standing, and that the God rays were just too good to miss.

I do like to vary my photography, my main interest is landscapes but I do like to shoot the odd portrait from time to time. After finding an old computer with a lot of my old images on there, I found a set from a shoot with the wonderful Indrija at Studio 2212 in Lincoln, but sadly the studio has now closed, but I did have some great shoots there in the past.

You maybe wondering what I am talking about with the title of this post, but I found out that both Avengers Endgame and the first two Harry Potter films had parts filmed at Durham Cathedral. I can see why they chose this place as it's certainly one of the finest buildings I have ever stepped foot in.

As I enter a new phase of my photography I am feeling a little bit out of my depth, not only with the style of photography but the image processing that comes with it.If you are wondering what I'm talking about, I am trying to get in to landscape astrophotography as well as my usual landscape photography. The night sky has always fascinated me, I think my first interest was back in 1986 when Halley's comet was close to the earth and my Dad woke me up in the middle of the night to see the comet. Ever since then I have spent hours observing the night sky, and looking for UFO's lol.

One place that's been on my "must visit" list has been Durham, a few years ago I had to attend some training up at Newcastle and we passed through Durham station on the way, I saw how magnificent the Cathedral looked and I'd wanted to visit ever since, and for my 50th birthday I had a surprise visit there :-)

A few nights ago we had the most awesome sunset, I think it was the first day of the snow, I shot outside to get some shots, but I wanted to do a timelapse film of the deep red high altitude clouds, my favourite sort of clouds when it comes to an awesome sunrise or sunset.
