Hello @featheredfriends community! 🦅🦉🦆🐥
This is @danaidhbee posting to you all the way from Scotland!
Today I would like to share with you some of my shots from the “Scottish Owl Centre” that I just visited on Saturday there.
(There are some more photos and information on my post from the other day so please feel free to stop by and have a look and read if you like).

It was AMAZING!! They hold the worlds largest collection of Owls and I would Highly recommend that you take a visit when you are in Scotland, or just make a trip over here exclusively to see these amazing birds!
Just take a look at some of these formidable apex predators… Stunning!
This is an “Oriental Bay Owl” it has an unusual appearance with its eyes slanted upright, a bit different than the usual owl eye-shape? Also it was balancing on one leg whilst it was sleeping. (I think I woke him/her up!) I’ve never seen or heard of an owl like it before.Beautiful!
This is a “Eurasian Owl” the largest owl breed in the world. This magnificent bird is called ‘Altai’ named after the Altai Mountains in Siberia. She has a wingspan of just over 6ft and can turn her head up to 220 degrees left and right.
I believe this is a “Black Banded Owl”. It one wasn’t too happy to see me with a camera pointing in its enclosure and started to hiss and click its tongue at me, it must have felt threatened, so I just got a quick snap and left it alone in peace.
We all know this one I’m sure, this is the “Snowy Owl” what a sweet little face! (To us) Not sweet to a prey animal anyway! That’s the worst face they wanna see, especially when it’s half way down the owls throat!
YUMMY!! 🐥😋
I’m not sure about this last Owl, but it sure is pretty, and also a little scary looking!?
Owls are silent fliers and the lay eggs but apparently don’t build nests, interesting!.
If you ever come to Scotland put this on your to-do-list/bucket list/things to do before you die. Worth the visit and I would definitely go back again and again!
They protect and maintain these owls lives and really do an amazing job of preserving their species and genetics wherever they can. I could have stayed there all day if my camera had the battery! My phone and laptop are full of owl pictures! I need to sift through them all haha.
Thanks for flying by to see the Owls here in Scotland, I hope you enjoyed them as much as I did.
