Stone horizons

In the massed crags, silent— I watch the budding of isotopes scraping feeble echoes from the seafront.

Faces, mossed bodies expressionless
in the forbidden dawn.
Graphite lion,
behold your pearl lioness:
let her
etch you away.
While I paint the scene of tremors,
gather strength for yore's decay.

To flower your feverish past,
postcard of the fallacious ice.
Aquamancy censored,
made dense at the crag's advice.

I know between coils of spring
the excitement of song made sea.
I found in consorting with stones,
The spirits they harbor are free.
