From my own research, family devotions are a specific period of time when husband and wife, dad and mom and the kids, comes together and sit down, read the word of God (bible), and pray together. It is a time that is designed majorly to build up an individual and establish a sense of unity and direction within families.
Creating time and developing a family culture around this spiritual habit is very important. Family devotions can do these little things to your family
• it can initiate a deep relationships with children or kids.
• it can also expand the opportunity to pray with and for them.
• and most importantly, it might also require a shift in the way a family spends their time, a good schedule for family devotions can yield eternal dividends in mist family’s spiritual growth and legacy.

Being a parents or partners, you have to established a devotional discipline in your own personal life first, having family devotions can also be like swimming upstream. And this desire to start having personal devotions can become a model for the kids as we actively pursue a relationship with God our maker. Our personal commitment to these things Bible reading and prayer speaks loud about the importance. One thing we have to keep in mind is that transparency and perseverance are the key!
Among the major goals in life, one important goal is to raise up kids who remain devoted to God as adults. Our desire is to raise children who use the following things to guide their decision-making, their life goals, and their relationships.
- 1 prayer
- 2 God’s Word
- 3 the solid core of family, friends, and church community

And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
