Greenhouse Build for Mom

By @chriskautzer6/8/2018woodworking

What's happening Steem?! Today I am sharing a woodworking themed post cause I haven't done one in a while. This is a greenhouse my brother and I built for my Mom a few years back. We tried to build this project as cheaply as possible, using windows and doors we got for free, used lumber, and other materials from thrift stores and other various people and places.

Once the stem walls were poured, the timber framed posts went in, as well as the ridge beam. My brother added a few lags before we started laying the rafters.

With the rafters in, we moved on to framing in the windows and doors we had--sliding glass door in back, and french doors on the side. Sorry for the crazy sun rays in this photo!

Just about finished here. The windows we had fit pretty well, but we did have to make a few custom sized fixed windows and panes here and there, as well as up in the rear gable end.

All finished up, mostly, it had a temporary plastic roof at the time, since then I have replaced it with better plastic roofing panels.
