Bomadery Creek - summer vs autumn : May 29 2025

A cloudy day. Plodded around in the morning doing some accounts stuff and some laundry. Did need to go shopping - best way then is to get in the car and walk first and shop later

Drove to Bomadery Creek Regional Park to walk known tracks - was a mushroom day - pink to begin

Was surprised to see patersonia iris flowering - it is a summer flower

Patersonia flowering was not a freak - found another - in fact found a lot the whole walk around

Love the textures of this mushroom on a tree trunk

More signs of a slow slide to autumn - slender rice flower

Was not expecting lambertia formosa either

Mimosa flower is in keeping with the season - so delicate

This was the real surprise - purple fringe flower - dedicated to my friend Landie who loves them 💜

Pushed the walk to get down to Bomadery Creek. This cryptostylis erecta leaf in the middle of the track. Never seen these in the flat sections I just walked through

Reason to walk to the creek - orchids growing on the rocks - this one has seeded flower spikes

Bomadery Creek looking a bit brown after the rains. Water is high but not exactly living up to Aboriginal name - tumbling waters

Interesting form on this tree trunk - looked like someone did woodwork. Was actually a mushroom cascade

Hibbertia. Always a photo challenge as the yellow grabs the light. This works as the light grab was balanced between the two flowers

Lambertia formosa flower just opening - not seen one like this

Did find orchid evidence - seeded corunastylis - new location

Location shot. It is a new sign since last walk and already been bashed by the local hooligans

Next season orchid find - one leaf - probably bearded orchid

Not expecting to see trigger flowers still going - a few

Swamp wallaby posed some way away. Got to within 75 metres before it hopped off.

More mushroom action - folding up and drying out

Did go up to bowling club for a drink and raffle

No wins today - a boring 90 minutes - nobody talked with me - no neighbours in

Cooked BBQ for dinner and watched Giro d'Italia but not to the end. An earlier night
