Another struggle night in a too soft bed. Was a struggle to be up and moving for the ride start. My wife went off early to vote in the State elections. She got to meet the local MP
Ride started out on the road we came in on the day before - so not a lot of pictures of the rolling hills. Did that yesterday. Route will loop to the town of Woodstock for coffee or an early lunch - the pub is open weekends. Farmhouse photo
Did take a few action photos - Margo smiling as always
Dale and my tandem friends, Ian and Lexi from Dorrigo Mountain
Closer up and more smiles from the stoker. Looking ahead to Woodstock side of the valley
Stopped at Royal Hotel Woodstock for coffee. Nice ride out after the tough afternoon the day before
My wife had her car detailed in the caravan park - a big job. I waited for her to drive to Woodstock. Bought her lunch and put the bike on the car.
We drove down to Wyangala Dam. Last time I saw it, the level was 6% full - now full. For my wife, she camped here with her family as a kid. Quite some changes since then with a sprawling area for camping and cabins and caravans on the shore
View over the top of the caravan park down toward the wall
Looking north. This body of water is twice the size of Sydney Harbour. Plans are afoot to increase capacity by 53% with wall raise
We checked out a few lookouts. Photographer is working out whether landscape or portrait is better
Maybe the best part of the photos are the clouds
Drove down to the wall. Pedestrians are allowed. Easy to see how the wall raise can work - maybe 50 metres rise to that hill on the far end and a bit more behind us
View down to the river outlet below.
We did drive around the barbecue area there. This is where my wife's family used to camp. Swim and fish in the dam and camp below the wall was the pattern.
Back to camp. Walked up to shops after a shower to buy some dinner ingredients and a bottle of wine. Poured with rain for the walk back - I did have a rain jacket
Spent an hour with the cycling crew for a drink and a chat. Was nice. I cooked dinner in the cabin. We travel with a small airfryer - makes for flexible cooking. Nice and simple it was. We will go home tomorrow and stop a few places along the way.
