Most Poker Tournaments in my area are held at night time. They might start about 6-7pm and run until maybe 10-11pm. That works for most people and it's good for the venues who are trying to get some evening trade. When I first started playing though as a 50+ year old I was finding myself getting tired and fading out at the back end of tournaments when ideally that's the "Business End" when you need to be the sharpest. I knew very early that I needed to make some adjustments to my lifestyle if I wanted to do well...
The liquid funds raised from the last SGS Monster Raffle held in July 2024 have now almost run out so this week I pulled back some of the Leased Hive Power for our Community Curation Project. This was to try and ensure that the Weekly Budget Deficit for the project is (almost) closed and in doing so I’ve ensured that the project can run more sustainably for the next few months.
This Friday the Pre-Season Challenge kicks off for the National Rugby League in Australia. In the past these types of game would just be considered "Trial Games" but recently the NRL has wrapped a little bit of structure around these games to generate some extra interest and squeeze out some extra revenue. I call myself a lazy gardener, but really I just get too busy with other stuff and my garden isn't a high priority in my life. I do enjoy it though and there is nothing as satisfying as making a meal out of home grown produce. Today I am making Tacos and I'll be using both the Tomatoes and Chillis from the garden so thought I might do an update on my Makeshift Victory Garden that I first planted over a year ago.
I am jealous of my North American brothers and sisters. I often see a post about one of our SGS members just casually browsing the local shops for silver and picking up some sweet discounts. Old mate @thedamus has been famous for it for years and I always wished I could do the same over here. Problem is there is no real LCS over here and I need to drive over 2 hours to get to Sydney if I want to visit a Bullion Dealer and typically the buys there are straight from the mint, so there's no bargains to be had...
