The Last Weekend!!

From what I can see so far, this will be my last week of freedom and doing what I like for the time being. It has been a series of long weeks where I simply focused on my work and doing what I did best, which was writing. But now that school has resumed, it’s time for me to return to my routine of daily lectures so I can get this final year ish done with.

School has not only just resumed, matter of fact, we resumed since the first week of the year, but that’s not enough to pull me out of my lodge. And even more, because lectures didn’t start until two weeks ago. But students were scanty and the lecturers were not really on the ground. Things didn’t really start picking up speed until last week when my department started receiving lectures. I didn’t attend anyone, but I’ve decided that it was going to be the only week where I missed class.

It feels kind of weird going back to school after all these weeks I’ve spent at home, even the thought of the daily dose of harsh sunlight I’ll be getting is already frustrating. Thinking about what I’ll be going through is making me tired even before I set foot in. But then, this is the last lap of my journey and it’s one that I’m looking to finish once and for all.

This will most likely be the toughest year for me because financially-wise, final-year students always have it the worst. Besides having to fund projects and seminars, there will be the required fees for textbooks and other things I have to pay for. It’ll be raining bills and bills on me for a while, and I have no way to avoid it. I’m not even trying to because I don’t want anything that will stand between me and a clean exit from this school.

So, this year has a lot to offer and I’m looking forward to every single one of them. It’s already looking good, seeing how the month of January is almost at an end. I don’t know if it’s just me, but this month feels shorter than I would have expected. Normally, by now we should be on the seventh day of January, but this year seems to be in a hurry to brush through the months. Is this because of all the negative hype people gave the month? So, January decided to shock us all. Well, I like this kind of shock, because ready or not, the month will be coming to an end in a few day's time and that is less time between me and my last days as a student.

So, it’s gonna be great. The year already started off on a good note and I just hope to be able to continue with that energy for the rest of it. So, as this weekend rolls to a close, I’ll try my best to enjoy it because I simply don’t know the next time I’ll be able to have such an amount of time to myself.

But then, no one knows tomorrow, right?
