Compulsory healthcare would be quite good, you know? Mandating people to go for regular medical check-ups will go a long way in ensuring the general well-being of society. These days, many people don’t do check-ups not because they can’t afford it, but because they just don’t see how important it is and as such, can’t make out the time. That’s just how it is.

Yesterday, I went to buy petrol from the filling station and I saw that the price had come down significantly, by at least N100. As of last year, it was N900+ but now it’s around N800+. I know that it might not seem like a lot, but for someone like me who buys fuel regularly due to the epileptic power supply in my area, it increases the amount of fuel I go home with in one purchase and that also increases how long I get to use it.

Having parents who make it a point of duty to be involved in every little thing about you can be one of the worst things to experience as a teenager. They want to know all your friends, they control everything about your life, even in the classroom. Hell, breathing without their permission would be impossible with them in the picture.

One thing I’ve noticed these days is how hard it has become to buy books here in Nigeria. In the past, you could literally buy them everywhere. They were on the roadside, they were in bookshops and whatnot. All you had to do was see them, and you would find dozens of novels if not hundreds of them. Back then, they were also cheap, which was how many of us got to read so many of them at the time.

If there is one thing I’ve come to learn all through my time on earth, it’s the fact that sometimes, being good could be the very thing that stops us from getting the kind of things that “bad” people get. Now, I’m not talking about the proceeds that come from being bad or evil, no good person will ever aspire to that.

Countries are really beautiful, but the most fascinating thing about it is the fact that no matter the similarities between two countries and what they have in common, no two countries can ever be the same. They can share a border, speak the same language and what have you, however there will always be something to tell them apart.
