It has studied the heavens more than you and I. **(2)** Like the sky at dawn, we pass through moments of grace as our highs wear off. **(3)** I no longer seek answers in the outside world. I now search within. **(4)** Today I turned right at the place in the road where I always turned left. **(5)** Sometimes it seems like the trees are trying to teach me something. But what? **(6)** This rock I stand on, once under ocean, will it soon be above me? **(7)** As I move forward, the horizon backs away, one step at a time. **(8)** Whether cutting grass or shoveling snow, always small talk and complaints. **(9)** After the rain falls, there is a silence before life begins again. **(10)** I had come to think there would always be a home I could return to. **(11)** The evening sun sets the sky on fire, and your voice whispers in my ear. **(12)** To think that I, too, once looked as fresh and vibrant as this azalea. **(13)** Being a parent, it’s more about learning than anything else. **(14)** Sometimes it’s best when all our plans get cancelled, and we just do nothing. _____ ____ **As always, thanks for reading.** *All feedback, thoughts, suggestions, criticisms, etc. are welcomed.*
