Several years ago I've had a wonderful experience of (safe) meeting brown bears in nature. It was possible due to The Wild Brown Bear Finnish center specializing in bear and wolverine photography and observation. The center is located in the heart of a wilderness area less than two kilometers from the Finnish-Russian border.
For couple of unforgettable days I was sitting in a tiny hide and observing bears wandering around.
