This monochromatically monotonous grey but vocally striking African bird is called Grey go-away-bird in English, but my friends and I used to call it the "korela". With the crest, it looks a lot like the well-known Australian parrot.
It's not rare in South Africa and not very shy, so it's possible to take photos, but the grey color doesn't stand out and they're never amazing.
Here it came out just fine for me. However, if it had perched on a lone, elevated branch nicely against the blue sky, it would have been better.
Well, nature is not a studio.
