Hello everyone

Greetings to you all beautiful people, friends and sew mate out there, I hope you are all doing great, it's feels so good to be back here again after a taking a little break to recover from a health break down, the truth is that I have so missed being online and most especially hive at large but the good thing is that I'm back for good. Today, I will be sharing with you with great pleasure the design of this simple gown outfit I made for grandma.
This fabric is one of the fabric that was chosen for a wedding and it's for the general public to wear as uniform to grace the wedding, this is not new around here as people usually choose a particular fabric for the general public and well wisher who are interested to buy for the purpose of the occasion or event. Grandma bought 4yards of the fabric and gave it to me to sew something simple for her then I came up with this A-shape gown cut together with the sleeves and a bias tape was used to make a simple design on the front neckline.
Let's get started with the cutting and sewing process
The 4yards of the African print fabric was folded in two measuring the full length
The whole side measurement was used for the shoulder and sleeves measurement as it's a cut together sleeves, the armhole circumference was measured, the bust and waist circumference was measured as well and connected to the full length and it was cut out.
The sleeves were cut out with a sharp ends and connected to the armhole circumference measurement, this was then placed on another folded fabric to cut out same shape.
The front neckline was measured 4 x 5" and I marked 1" intervals where I used a bais tape to make a simple design round the neckline.
I used a bais tape to pipe the back neckline as well as it was sewn together with the front bodice, the hem of the sleeves were folded in and sewn with 0.5" sewn allowance and both sides were sewn with 1" seam allowance.
From the left over pieces, I cut out 2 side pockets and it was sewn to both sides of the gown, finally, the hem of the gown was folded in round and this is the final outcome.
I hope you like the simplicity and beautiful outcome of this gown I made for grandma. She was so glad to have her outfit ready and looking beautiful for the wedding.

Thanks so much for your time, support, comment and encouragement. Until my next post. Do have a great day.
