HivePredict Just Paid Out Its First Auto Resolving Markets

While HivePredict is covered in tests, there is always that degree of uncertainty of things you can't account for, so HivePredict's first auto resolving market just resolved completely without intervention (as it was designed).

This is the market: https://hivepredict.app/markets/e5cf1995-4dc3-4ec5-a149-37c8bd631eb7

As you can see it transparently calculated the result, burned 5% of the pool to @null and ran its calculation to ensure that winners do not lose any of the money they invested (I've got a post on this mechanism coming where fees are dynamic depending on the size of each side).

This isn't the full list for the outcome (there were 13 participants), but as you can see not only does it work for singular outcome bets, but in the case of @chronocrypto who placed 2 separate outcome bets, it knew to sum those up to calculate the total staked.

These auto markets rely on third-party APIs and in this case, it was Coingecko where the resolving layer will obtain the price, compare the precise values against one another and then determine the outcome. This works for all cryptocurrency markets and for sporting markets it using the Odds API. More auto resolving market types will be added now this is all confirmed working.

While it was expected this would all work, it's reassuring to know that it functioned as intended and everyone was paid.
